I am writing to formally express my serious concern and disappointment regarding the handling of my personal belongings left in the refrigerator during my recent stay at your hotel.
We stayed at Hilton Portland Downtown from December 23 to December 24, occupying Rooms 416 and 417. Upon checkout, a full box of prescription medications was accidentally left inside the refrigerator in one of the rooms.
I want to be very clear about the nature of these items:
The box was full and intact
It contained injectable prescription medications, clearly medical in nature
The medications were stored inside the refrigerator, not left out in the room
These items were obviously not trash and are easy to identify as medical supplies
Given these facts, I find it extremely concerning and unacceptable that:
The items were apparently discarded or mishandled, and
No attempt was made to contact me to confirm whether these medically critical items should be kept.
At a minimum, I would expect hotel staff to recognize that refrigerated injectable medications are not garbage, and that such items require verification with the guest before disposal. The failure to do so reflects a serious lack of care and responsibility, especially considering the medical importance of these medications.
These medications are essential for managing chronic health conditions, and their loss has caused significant distress and inconvenience. This situation could and should have been avoided with a simple phone call.
There appeared to be a misunderstanding between the hotel and Trip.com as we booked the stay with breakfast stated as included but the hotel reception said they had not provided breakfast for a long time, since Covid19 started. They needed to sort this between themselves. However, the manager was gracious to refund us the cost of breakfast at a nearby cafe.
The location of the hotel was near to a number of bus stops for different directions.
The view from our room window was very poor, just an internal air well.
This was the third stay over a 10 year time span. Every stay the hotel has been friendly, and clean. This time was no different. However, to my surprise there was an added parking fee of $29 per night. This caught me as odd since our previous stays had not charged for this convenience. Going from free to $29 seemed rather obnoxious. The person at checkin pointed out the small print in the reservation that stated the upcharge for parking. I have to admit I didn’t even look for that as I hadn’t been charged for parking the previous stays. Lesson learned.
The breakfast was good. The room was clean. They said the pool was 80 degrees but it was closer to 60 degrees. Asked if they could turn up the heat and they said they couldn’t. The hotel is right on the main road in town so traffic can be easily heard.
The receptionist was very nice , and all different kinds of restaurants are right there easy walking distance.
Good supermarket is across the street.
WiFi wasn’t very good.

Had some hiccup when trying to check in as there aren't any receptionist for the 10mins we been there.
Unable to complete the check in form too, but when the receptionist came back, we are able to check in smoothly.
The room is clean and comfortable bed, with balcony too.
Even the lobby feels like a 3 stars hotel.
Free breakfast is served with warm food.

KKirus24Расположение хорошее, но рядом с отелем много бездомных. Номер был чистым и комфортным, завтрак был действительно очень хорошим. Плохо то, что нет бесплатной парковки (они предлагают услуги парковщика за 59 долларов, что очень дорого). Если вам повезет, вы найдете несколько бесплатных мест для ночной парковки рядом с отелем (бесплатно с 7 вечера до 8 утра). Так что я бы рекомендовал этот отель, если вы путешествуете без машины.

This depends on the guest's purpose of visit, but mine was for business.
Having said that, the nearby train rail which runs all day long including late-night and early-morning does not help (You can hear this from the entire hotel).
There is a small pizzeria, which seems to be attracting the town's 'night-crowds', and you can hear their V8 muscle engine at late night, which also did not help (You only hear this from one side of the hotel).
Other than those two noise issues, the hotel is located at a very quiet and calm part of the town neighboring to many business buildings.
Cleanliness :
It's been newly renovated not long ago and things are clean and tidy.
However, the hotel only offers a light duvet so I pulled out the fleece like blanket from the closet and it had many strands of hair stuck to it. This was my second time staying here and I had this same experience the first time I stayed so it proves that the hotel does not wash these blankets.
Service :
Check-in & Check-out was smooth and staffs were friendly. Also, the room cleaning service was good.
My only complaint is, that it does not offer a in-room slippers.
I am fully aware of environmental issue regarding disposable products but this is only thing you really need from the hotel, and is very difficult to bring along &/ buy, when you are traveling. I completely agree with not offering tooth brush, hair comb, razor & etc. but I really wish and expect to be offered a pair of slippers from a premium brand hotel. I think Mariott is big enough to come up with a creative way to offer slippers to its guests for their comfort & conveniency, in a way that doesn't harm our environment.
Facility :
It has a nice lobby with large TV showing news or sports games. Offers a small snack bar with drinks. All clean and nice.
Also has a fitness gym facility and a washing machine / laundry room. I only found out this time (2nd time staying here) but if I am back, I will be using them for sure.
ГГостьAre staying was very nice. The room was nice and clean and the bed was really comfortable. So when we got to the Ramada the only problem that we had was is that they didn't bother to tell us and it wasn't posted in the website that they charged a $75 deposit fee that is refundable that time that you leave. And then the other problem was more so a bigger deal so to say because me and my husband were only 10 minutes late cute breakfast they said and at that time it was 9:10 a.m. whenever their hours are posted breakfast hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30am . So the lady working told us that we were too late for breakfast and toast that we missed it and there's nothing that she could do about it to help us. Keep in mind that she was cleaning up all the leftover breakfasts like the sausage and bagels and everything she put it all on the plate and then she acted like she took it to the kitchen just to watch her take the whole plate of leftover breakfast food and she threw it in the damn trash can. Now I don't understand why we can have had at least a leftover food because their hours for the breakfast were marked wrong and we were not late for breakfast as posted yet they still did not give us any thing.. now I'm pretty sure that you know there was no reason for her to be rude like that to guess who paid $80.00 for 1 night and then not even get any breakfast at all. When I saw her put the foods in the trash can after telling us we couldn't have any breakfast made me feel like I never want to stay there again because I paid $80 for one night and I didn't even get the breakfast I paid for it in my hotel stay.
ГГость.The hotel left a mixed impression. Despite the excellent reviews and not being the cheapest option, we were overall disappointed.
Starting with the positives:
A very convenient location in a pleasant, green, and quiet neighborhood not far from downtown. There are plenty of great cafés, small shops, restaurants, and wine bars nearby.
Polite and friendly staff at the front desk.
Interesting room design.
Spacious parking available for hotel guests.
Large rooms.
Now the downsides:
Thin walls and creaky floors made it very difficult to sleep. The soundproofing is basically nonexistent. The young couple staying in the next room was clearly enjoying their time together, which unfortunately meant a very uncomfortable experience for us. In addition, the refrigerator in the room was extremely noisy — not only did it hum loudly when running, but it also made constant knocking sounds.
The breakfast was exceptionally poor. The only “hot” items seemed to be the coffee and a dishwasher, which, oddly enough, was placed right in the middle of the breakfast area.
There were two small TVs in the room, both positioned very inconveniently for viewing, and neither had streaming services available.
The housekeeping staff was intrusive — within a 20-minute period, they knocked on the door three times (and even tried to open it once), apparently trying to hurry us out, even though it was still before checkout time.
Nnicole.wants.adventureI arrived to quite late to my booking. The front desk staff was courteous and even offered me a cookie when I checked in. My room was clean and orderly. There were a few stains in the carpet, but nothing too bad. The shower was amazing and had two shower head. There were plenty of outlets through out the room for all of my devices including next to the beds. The room also had a little couch coffee table, microwave, and mini fridge which was super nice. They did charge for the bottled water in the room though. I paid extra when I booked my room to have breakfast included, the breakfast was great. Bacon, Sausage, Potatoes, Eggs, and Waffles. They also had bagels and some items in the salad bar area but I didnt mess with any of that. Overall it was a pleasant stay. My only complaint would be related to the parking. There wasnt very many parking spots to begin with and the spots were super small. It made getting in and out of my car very difficult when parked. The hotel was super easy to find and was right off of I-5. However, I will warn you that the entrance is tucked around on the backside.
ГГостьThe Siletz Bay Beachfront Hotel has an excellent location. The rooms are good and are reasonably clean. The hotel is aging somewhat gracefully but still has no air conditioning in the rooms. The service however is not friendly to fishermen staying there to fish for the outstanding Fall run of Pacific Salmon in the Siletz River. Specifically, the rigid office hours of 7 am to 10 pm are all but useless for fishermen. In 3 years of staying there I have yet to be able to take advantage of their free breakfast. Also, there is no freezer on site that is usable for fishermen. I was specifically denied access to a freezer for my fish fillets that is there (behind a locked door) for what are (IMHO) very bogus reasons. I also had issues with an extremely noisy ventilation system coming from somewhere other than my bathroom (reported after my first night but never fixed during my 7 nights there), hot water that would run out halfway through my shower, and a loss of TV during my last 2 days there. For all these reasons I will be looking to stay elsewhere when I return to Lincoln City to fish next Fall.
ГГостьThis hotel smells like Christmas morning because of the fireplaces and the scent diffusers, very cool feature I haven't seen anywhere else. Very nice front desk staff, windows that open, fireplaces, and despite an ongoing renovation there wasn't any chaotic banging / drilling or paint, they kept everything very professional. There are 3 different Marriot properties all next to each other in this area, this Residence, the Fairfield and the Courtyard. They all sort of share the same parking lot, it feels secure, although you get some loud cars coming through and this hotel is right off the highway exit, so some people complain about car noise. I didn't notice / mind it that much. For some reason the nightly rates went way up since I stayed here, from around $108 to now over $170 before taxes. At the initial rate, it was an amazing deal and the best Residence Inn by far. At this new price it's still a solid, very clean and professional hotel but I think it's priced too expensive relative to the amenities.
