Марлборо, Новая Зеландия: Хостел

The facilities were fine. The double room we reserved came with only that.. a double bed. Not even a nightstand next to the bed or a table in the room. There was also no heater or fan and the room felt musty with a bit of moisture in the air. Could use a dehumidifier when it's raining out like it was this day/night. The other guests in the hotel were the problem. I was woken up at 4AM by someone upstairs in the smoking area chatting so loudly on their phone... I had to get out of my bed in the middle of the night and ask them to go somewhere else or end their call. It was absurd. In the middle of the night someone cooked a very fragrant meal that made the entire building smell - it was so intense that it even permeated into  our room which was the furthest room away from the kitchen... not a great stay when you can't even sleep through the night and feel like you are sitting in the middle of someone's meal.. Not worth the price

Privately owned, friendly owners. The room was roomy and clean. There is a sitting area out the back patio doors which was good. The outdoor furniture is a bit older. The bed and linens were good for a 2 night stay. We just needed a place to stay while we toured the area. Havelock where the postal boat tour is just a 35 minute drive away. There is a Countdown grocery store right across the street which was convenient. There are no restaurants within walking distance.

Lovely place to stay with a giant sequoia in front of its main gate. A free breakfast is definitely the cherry on top of the cake. And the staff are nice, gentle and supportive

Ладно, отличное расположение. Но странно, что в номере было объявление о том, что уборка не будет производиться ежедневно (хотя можно было запросить полотенца и другие принадлежности), и что номер выходил на общее патио — не очень-то уединённо! В номере иногда чувствовался затхлый, затхлый запах. Но в целом чисто, аккуратно и опрятно.

We stayed in this motel after arriving on the midnight ferry. I called ahead about the late check in and Lisa was very helpful. The key was left in the door, and the room was lit with the curtains open. The room was a good size and very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Quite a steep drive up. Walking distance to picton downtown, very nice views from place.

Too bad we were arrived late night, Rachel is very welcoming. Very clean and professional. Beautiful spot with beauyiful view on the back.

Great accommodation. Comfortable beds with multiple shared bathrooms so no long wait — good facilities. Hospitality and service was good, owners were nice and friendly. Recommend if planning on a stay.

Owner of Colonial Motel is really friendly and helpful. The apartment is well kept, and a good size for my mum and I. It’s got all the amenities we need. Location is good too, about 10-15 mins walk into town centre.
