Dionyssos

This was our first visit to Skopelos and the Hotel Dionyssos. Our stay was excellent and all the staff were so friendly. We stayed in room 201 and had a great view of the sea and hills. Breakfast was good. Free Air con which was very good. Room cleaned every day. Shower was a bit small and leaked into floor but not a problem. Great size pool and plenty of sunbeds. Snack from pool bar where reasonably priced. Great location for all the main bars.

Very dated hotel , uncomfortable beds , hard to use shower very badly designed with awful shower curtain that flooded the floor however hard you tried not to , very old a lot were broken and uncomfortable sun beds , the outside furniture that you can sit on the cushions were disintegrating from age , the breakfast was basically Greek yoghurt and honey , cheap ham , cheese ,tinned peaches , no tomatoes or cucumber and the cooked offerings wasn’t nice at all the only thing I found edible was the scrambled egg and toast. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are mostly friendly it’s in a great location but it needs a total revamp to bring it up to date to a basic standard of what travellers now expect unfortunately I wouldn’t return

10 night package with Jet2. The hotel is very traditional, dark wood furniture and lace tablecloths but it is spotlessly clean. The Receptionists, breakfast staff and cleaners are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average plenty of choice but the cooked food was not very appetising. Rooms are quite basic and very clean, we had good a/c, a fridge and a safe, always plenty of hot water. The beds are uncomfortable. I was very disappointed with the bathroom which was typically Greek - shower curtain, cramped WC and sink - i was swayed into booking the Dionyssos by the images of the bathrooms on the Jet2 app (walk in shower, double vanity unit) this image is FAKE! it doesn't exist at the Dionyssos so be warned. I did complain to the Jet2 rep Jenny, who is absolutely lovely, but it still remains on the app. The pool area is nice with plenty of sun loungers. George at the pool bar can be quite abrupt and the service there is slow but the food is good. The hotel is in a good location just 5 minutes from the harbour, there are a number of steps throughout so may be an issue for less mobile guests. Skopelos is absolutely beautiful and there are so many lovely restaurants tucked away in the narrow streets we were spoilt for choice. The Dionyssos is a typical Greek 3 star hotel and although my review may seem slightly negative I did enjoy my stay there. After a couple of days you relax into the greek pace of life. Would i return to the Dionyssos? Probably not. But I would definitely return to beautiful Skopelos.

As a repeater (one of many) which is always a good sign I have just returned from another excellent stay at the Dionyssos. The staff from the management through to all the staff are friendly and couldn't be more helpful nothing is to much trouble. The hotel is spotlessly clean with free Air con and room safe which you have to pay extra for at many hotels. The pool area is large with plenty of sunbeds and a pool bar which serves lunches. The breakfast has plenty of choice with a tasty hot selection and something to suit every body. Yes the hotel is situated on a hill but unless you have walking difficulties most people cope fine with it. The hotel is a perfect base for the Town and restaurants as they are only a few minutes walk away. I read a previous review where it said the image on the Jet2 app concerning the bathrooms was FAKE actually the image isn't FAKE it is a fair image of some of the bathrooms which do have a walk in shower I think the reviewer was unfortunate becouse although many of the bathrooms have been upgraded theirs was obviously one of the older ones which hasn't yet been done. I am very happy with everything at the hotel! Great location, nice views, so appreciated that there is a pool bar, lovely breakfast buffet!

Excellent friendly hotel, rooms are traditional greek style with balcony and bedding and towels changed on a regular basis. Hotel is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to George at the pool side bar, Rudi and Maria. Road to the hotel is quite step but very short but skepolos is built on hills so not a surprise. Definitely worth going. Breakfast has a good choice. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring skepolos.
