We spent 4 days in this lovely hotel. Our room was just perfect, with real Ocean View. The staff, from the reception to the bar and the restaurant super friendly and well organizes under the supervision of a great manager. On top : food and drinks are great (and value for money). Congrats

Totally worn out. At a beach hotel you expect a terrace. There was none of that here. There was also no television in the room, although one now finally had time to watch the news. Admittedly, there was a fridge and a coffee machine, but only coffee to make one time. Then no more was delivered. A cupboard was also missing and the chest of drawers was jointless. The restaurant was extremely expensive.

Just returned from our 3rd stay @ Hotel Akumal Caribe ~ had a wonderful time. Loved our ground floor (deluxe kitchenette) room (406) just steps away from the pool & beach. Nothing better than waking up to the birds singing & enjoying a cup of coffee on our patio. You know your day is going to be a good one, when Juan (goundskeeper) greets you with a "Hola, Buenos Dias" as he starts his day. But, then ALL the people employed @ this property are super friendly & make you feel like family each & everyday. Our room was cleaned by a very nice gentleman (forgot to get his name) always with a smile & a "hope you are having a nice visit." We had all our meals down by the Lolha ~ excellent food/drinks/service!! Big ups to Oscar, Willy, Rafael, Alberto, Jordy & the rest of the crew. Again, always service with a smile. Hotel Akumal Caribe & The Lolha are a perfect example of how a property/restaurant should be run & I'm sure other properties could learn a valuable lesson from them. We loved the staff and the food. Rooms are very clean and the pool and beach are beautiful. The air conditioner in our room could have been cooler. Our only complaint would be the mass numbers of snorkeling/diving shop customers and the boats anchored on the beach obstructing our views and access to the water.

We were very pleased with out experience at the Caribe. The service was swift, gracious and always available although the reception desk was some distance from the hotel. The3re are only 21 rooms in the hotel and addition "casitas" on the grounds, which also contain a dining building, and addition facilities on the site. The grounds are blessed with many large palms which provide shade, and there is a staff person whose sole job is to carry lounge chairs where ever you wish. There is a beautiful beach, shared with several other resorts, and a very active program from the Diving Center with guides, boats and equipment to observe the turtles. Many go out to the reef to observe these creatures using a life jacket and snorkel equipment. We were a little put off by this incessant activity, but contracted with one of the boats' crews moored at the beach to make an excursion north along the shore. This culminated in entering a lagoon, and well equipped and monitored by the crew, swam for 45 minutes observing many beautiful tropical fish. The actual swimming off the beach was hindered while we were there by a high wind and resultant sea**** blown in as well as some underwater rocks, but we persevered and conditions improved.

Traveling solo to Akumal I wanted a quiet beach front location, I hit the jackpot. Staying in the Cannon House Studio was exactly what I wanted after an 8 day tour in mid Mexico. The sea was right outside my door which was exceptional. This is not a plus, lush resort. It is an older hotel and the Cannon House is set apart and very private. The room was comfortable and had more amenities than I needed. The food was good. I advise to get their meal plan, which I did not as there are very few options if you do not have a car. You get some discounts. If you are older and want a quiet retreat give this a look.

The resort is outdated. Small villa’s with very small beds. Cars are parked all over the place. The first impression is the main entrance by car, which looks like you enter into a junkyard. You don’t expect such a badly maintained resort at this amazing coast. It depressed us so much that we moved out within 10 minutes after arrival.

This was my first time and will not be my last. if you are looking for a more authentic stay away from the large all inclusive hotel this is the place for you. Clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff. Great bar and restaurant on-site and less than a 10 minute walk into town for more options. Scuba and snorkeling right outside your front door. Cannot recommend this place enough!
