The only gripe I have are the narrow walls between rooms, your neighbour's will most likely disturb you. Besides that it's a good hotel

Great location and offers free shuttle to town. Breakfast is excellent. However they charge you 15€ for parking per day on premises and 3€ for use of towels at the pool. Should be free since this is a category 4 star hotel.

An amazing stay to stay with friendly, helpful og smiling staff🔆 Adriana is serving tasty and decorative cocktails at the nice pool🍸 Cala bistro serves delicious lunch and wine. Breakfast is a large variation, freshly pressed juices, eggs upon request and a really nice and effective waiter makes nice coffee. Clean rooms with amazing views over the see, and a free shuttle bus back/forth from city centre. 15 minutes walk along coastline is worthwhile as well. We loved our stay in sardinia at the hotel calabona. The rooms were clean and airy & our balcony overlooked the sea and swimming pool. An excellent breakfast with lots of choice and local specialities was provided & the evening meals were delicious. The staff were so friendly & helpful. Would definately visit again.

The approach to this hotel at the moment is spoiled by building work and derelict looking buildings which initially make you feel you’ve made a mistake.However once you are at the hotel proper and as long as you don’t have one of the rooms overlooking the building site there is no need to worry about it. The approach from the rear brings you up some steps to a large swimming pool and a large seating area with sun beds, tables and chairs and an all day bistro / bar and then the rear entrance to reception.Parking is either free on the seafront with access past the pool or 15 euros per day at the other entrance to the hotel which is harder to find but right in front of the main doors so easier with luggage .All of the staff we encountered were keen to help and friendly which is a great help to the overall feel of the hotel. It would appear the hotel had gone through some refurbishment with some original rooms and others more modern. Our room was an excellent, very clean and modern suite with a double balcony and two bathrooms which we really liked and in comfort ranks very highly against others we have stayed in at other hotels.Bed was comfortable and the room was extremely quiet all the time especially during the night. It didn’t overlook the pool area which may have had more noise at certain times we felt so choose your room according to your individual needs. The breakfast was a decent spread in a large comfortable room again with friendly staff. There was a free shuttle at key times through the day into the main part of Alghero or a pleasant 20 minutes walk at a decent pace. This hotel suited us for the purpose of our visit and we had a very comfortable stay.

A really lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Great location with 20 minute walk along the prom to the old town. A real bonus was having a shuttle service available if you don’t feel like walking. Service throughout the hotel was excellent and the breakfast buffet offered lots of choice. Would recommend. Jan & Colm. Ireland

I love this hotel. The staff are fantastic at the reception, the bar and restaurants, the pool supervisors they're all professional and friendly. The hotel is so organised and everyone works as a team. It is so clean and the food is very good.

Excellent value hotel. Reception staff always cheerful and helpful. Lovely pool and beach area with usually enough loungers. Great breakfast (including Barista for proper Italian coffees and croissants you can fill yourself) Nice 1 mile seafront walk to town or free shuttle bus at peak hours. Modern and comfortable room (USB charging points AND Netflix AND Chromecast for the 2 days of very bad weather we had! ) Plenty of free parking on the lower, seafront side of hotel (tip: just park on lower side of hotel and bring bags in through the entrance they have nectar to the pool. The main entrance on the road side of the hotel is pretty steep)

Fantastic hotel , the staff were so friendly and helpful , the hotel was spotlessly clean . The breakfast was so nice you can juice your own fresh juice and have a fresh omelette made for you with real fresh coffee , it’s all about the little things, There’s a shuttle bus that runs into the main town every 15 min?And the driver Andrea was an absolute gentleman 😍

The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The rooms and communal areas are spotless. The breakfast is wonderful, from the fresh juices and detox waters to the tasty cereals, nuts and fresh fruits, pastries and cooked options. The free shuttle to the Old Town, running every 15 mins is great, and the driver, Andrea, a true gentleman

We had a wonderful week at Hotel Calabona. The hotel was well located just at the verge of Alghero, away from the busy streets but close enough to walk in the evening. A fastastic promenade all the way in - I walked every morning for the exercise and the beautiful views. The tiny cove was the highlight for me - crystal clear water, quiet with plenty of sunbeds. You do need sea shoes though as it is quite rocky. The food here is lovely and the staff are second to none - attentive and happy to help. No fighting over sundbeds by the pool either - plenty with fresh towels available (E3 per day). Supermarket Conad City within a 10 minute walk and we stocked up on water and snacks. There was a small fridge in the room. Lovely balcony with sea view, clean and modern rooms. I would definitely come back again although August was very hot, so perhaps later in the year. Alghero is a beautiful walled town with loads of shops and a lively evening crowd, perfect for great restaurants and strolling.
