Villa Alba d'Oro - Historic Luxury Villa

這次旅行最滿意的酒店了，意大利小哥很熱情，房間也大，陽台直接對着地中海，美麗至極，早餐也豐富！我們退房晚一點都無所謂！

TLDR; beautiful views, great pool, but beware the stairs. The villa is charming with an antique aesthetic (like dark wood furniture, floral duvets, and antique armoirs). It has ample rooms and beds for a family or group of friends to comfortably stay here and spread out. The villa is well maintained, but don’t expect a brand new, renovated vibe. As the description indicates, it’s historic. The views are incredible, especially the bougainvillea tree. The pool is well-maintained and has the bonus of an A+ view. There’s a ton of seating on the pool deck and also shaded areas. Alessio (property manager) was always accessible to answer any questions and very kind throughout the stay. A few things to note: 1) There is no elevator. While the description mentions 100ish stairs, visitors really need to understand what that means: there are over 100 steep stairs straight up a hill just to access the villa from the road, with many more stairs throughout the property. (See photo). Anyone with ambulatory issues or health concerns should not stay here. There is a machine to bring luggage up from the street, but not to move heavy items within the property itself. 2) The villa is pretty remote. It’s a €50 taxi each way to town (so €100 to get into town). The street is not very walkable - there are no sidewalks and it’s a curvy road. This villa is meant for guests looking for a secluded spot that houses a large group and has great views. It is not for visitors who want to go back and forth to town easily. If you do, either rent a car or be prepared to spend a lot of money on taxis. (The bus may be an option but I didn’t try it). 3) There is a fish restaurant downstairs and a couple of places walkable (up and down the stairs and on that sidewalk-less road), but essentially there aren’t really good options nearby if you want to quickly grab a to-go coffee or sandwich. There’s a coffee machine at the house and filtered still and sparkling water on tap. A big bonus is that Alessio kindly will stock the house with any groceries you request which I definitely recommend doing before you arrive.

Amalfi Hotel was extremely clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Views were amazing.

The property was awful. It was low season, no one was there and the area was shabby and grossly misrepresented. There was only one person working there who was rude and threatening. We struggled to find it because it is badly signed and there are more than 100 steps to the hotel from the parking lot and no one to help

We had a wonderful stay here - very quiet in the off-season, and I imagine it's even nicer as a way to get away from the crowds if you go during the summer. Great views and the staff were amazingly helpful with advising us on what to do and for anything we needed during our stay. As others have noted, there are around 100 steps to get to the Villa. They will bring your luggage for you, so don't worry about lugging a suitcase up 10 flights of stairs. Then again, if you are deterred by 100 steps, then it is possible that Amalfi isn't the best destination for you anyway...
