Kreta Natur

Peaceful and relaxing. Kreta Natur is a beautiful oasis of calm. Georgo and Maria have created a wonderful environment to rest and unwind in. The rooms have been thoughtfully designed to give privacy but to also to take advantage of the lovely surroundings. The rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are all very friendly. There is a small bar by the freshwater swimming pool.. cocktails can be quite potent! If you can tear yourself away from the pool you can find some good local restaurants, two Spar shops and a bar or two. Be prepared to walk some distance and always up hill at some point. The best meal we had though was lunch cooked by Bill at Kreta Natur. The beach is gorgeous, much of it has been taken up by the larger hotels and sunbeds for their guests however you can find some empty stretches. We stayed in May which was uncrowded and a great temperature for us. Swimming in the sea was idyllic. We loved it here and will definitely aim to come back next year and stay for longer.

We have just returned from the most wonderful week at Kreta Natur! From the warmest of welcomes, to the farewell with the staff who had become friends. The apartment was lovely, with a generous balcony, and kept spotless by lovely Rosa. George and Maria have put so much thought into creating a peaceful and beautiful place to relax. The pool is lovely, the gardens and multiple seating areas kept immaculate! Nico is a cocktail genius, and such a friendly guy! If you are looking for peace and quiet and a welcoming family atmosphere, then Kreta Natur is just the ticket.

We (5 of us across 2 rooms) spent 10 nights here and had the best time. The owners George and Maria, and staff Bill, Nick and Rosa are very nice people- they really made us feel welcome and comfortable like we were at home- anything we wanted or needed they would do their best to help us. Bill and Nick were especially kind to my three children who are 16, 13 and 11 they really looked out for them which put us at ease- they also joined in when we played games in the pool which was great. I really can’t thank them enough they made our holiday. The location is quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle of a busy city- there are some nice beaches and restaurants in walking distance- Sarandaris beach is lovely- Ya seafood is a great place to eat. However, be warned if you do walk anywhere there will be big hills to walk up on the way back. The apartments are clean, well kept and have everything you need for your stay. Rosa cleans the rooms every day bless her- she works so hard in the heat. The gardens and pool area are also very clean and well kept and there are many sunbeds- which were always available as the pool area never really got busy. Bill is a great cook- the first night he prepared us a meal of roast chicken, potatoes, rice and salad and it was delicious. Nick is a great host and he makes the best cold coffees and cocktails. I would recommend hiring a car- We hired a car for our trip so it was easy to get around and visit other areas of Crete- there’s so many beautiful places- Agia Pelagia beach, Kato Gouves, Agios Nicolaos Overall we had an amazing time at Kreta Natur, if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break away I would recommend coming here.

Just arrived home after 2 weeks! What a fabulous place to stay..so quiet and relaxing. George & Maria, the owners, couldn't do enough for you. Rosa, the cleaner, was lovely, Bill, the Chef and Nico, the Barman were very attentive. We were very sad to leave and will definitely be going back.Thank you all for your hospitality! First time here and couldn’t wish for more. Peaceful, easy going and away from the bustle of Hersonissos which you can walk to or get a taxi for €10. George and Maria , the hosts, were spectacular and couldn’t for more. Rooms were clean albeit a little dated but spent most of time by the exceptionally clean pool and sea. Will be back !

The room was a good size but was let down by the furniture and the kitchenette. The only chest of drawers was so narrow it was barely suitable for socks and every drawer stuck, as did the small drawers in the bedside tables. Aircon was free but the safe was €15 per week which I think should be included in the room price. The fridge was full size and not too noisy. The shower pressure was good but the water did vary from warm to scalding whilst running so be prepared to move quickly! The floor was also very slippy and there are no handles to grab if you do slip. The room isn't really suitable for self catering due to the lack of space and was missing several items I would have expected such as a corkscrew, bread knife, chopping board/worktop saver, wine glasses and a tea towel. There was a large gap in the main door which let in light and made me quite uncomfortable as it was opposite the bed so we had to block it by hanging a towel on the door each night. The traffic noise was also quite loud which may have been due to the gap, so may not be an issue in other rooms. Cleanliness wasn't great, there was quite a bit of dirt and grime around all edges of the room, and food in the drawers when we arrived. The bath mat wasn't changed throughout our stay, just hung to dry. The bathroom floor wasn't cleaned properly, the bin wasn't moved just mopped around. The table on the balcony wasn't wiped all week. Transfer from the airport was about an hour as we had 6 stops before our hotel. The nearest shop is the Spar, just past Yamanis restaurant, which is quite a steep hill on the way back so it would be helpful if the hotel sold large bottles of water for those without transport. Location is ok but wouldn't stay again as we don't drive and wouldn't recommend the nearest restaurants (Big Blue - food was dreadful, Yamanis - ridiculous prices) so had a long walk each night. Chersonissos was around a half hour walk downhill. Taxi back was 10 euros, taxi ranks easy to find on both sides of the main road. Anissaras was a nicer walk along the seafront and easy to do both ways, only slightly uphill on the way back. The first bar is around 10 mins walk and the nicer restaurants of Analipsi a further 40 minutes with plenty of bars along the way. Pool area was nice and quiet which is what we wanted. Pool is not heated. Bottled beer was €3.50, no draft available. Overall we enjoyed our holiday but we wouldn't stay here again due to the poor self-catering facilities and the remote location.
