St Johns House Lichfield

Attended a wedding on Saturday, beautiful venue, brilliant service, great host. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive, food was 10/10, hot and delicious, one of the best venues I’ve ever been too, reasonably priced bar. Highly recommend for a visit or a special occasion.

I stayed here for my brothers wedding and had young children staying with me. They were more than accommodating. My daughter wanted soft boiled eggs with soldiers which was not on menu and it was provided with a smile. Never made to feel like a nuisance which I have found in other hotels. The food was amazing, the rooms clean and comfortable and the owner Dan is one of the most friendly hoteliers I have come across. If I find myself travelling to the area I would definitely book to stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in area.

We were married yesterday at Lichfield Registry Office and made the short walk to St. John’s House for the reception. We also booked the 12 bedrooms offered on site. Our wedding was planned at very short notice due to my illness and we were extremely lucky that this establishment had a date available. From the moment we walked in on the day to the moment we left the next the hotel did us proud. We not only had a wonderful time but, with the help of the staff, we savoured every moment and will treasure the memories. I must mention Danielle, the wedding planner, for all her help. And a special mention for Sarah, whose unfailing concern and attention helped me to stay on my feet until well past midnight- an achievement I can tell you. Sandra you also performed above and beyond the call of duty and sent us out happily the next day after an excellent breakfast. Our friends and family were fulsome in their praise of the accommodation. Well done St.John’s. My Wife was so happy she smiled from start to finish. You sprinkled pixie dust on our day.

Very good indeed. Our room (Francis) was delightful – spacious, beautifully decorated very well equipped. Fresh milk in the fridge was a great touch. Five stars. The staff also absolutely first class: welcoming, friendly, helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious – again five stars all the way down the line. They were a couple of maintenance issues, which were addressed very quickly once raised (and as an aside, if you are a guest anywhere and there is an issue, it really is important to tell the staff - they are not telepathic, and will perhaps not know unless someone tells them!). To sum up – this is a beautiful house staffed by a friendly team, offering delightful rooms and an excellent breakfast

The team delivered a fabulous Mother’s Day Meal, a great menu with the best service I have experienced in a restaurant in a long time. The menu was fabulous, portions were very generous indeed, and the staff were very attentive. Can’t recommend it more highly.

We stayed in the Garden Room. A really lovely large room, beautifully set out with excellent tea and coffee facilities. Very pleasant sitting area and in the summer your own private garden area. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble. Very convenient for visiting the cathedral and Erasmus Darwin museum.

We stayed 1 night and our room was in the stable block. Luxuriously appointed with tea and coffee in the room and fresh milk in the fridge. Separate dressing area and en suite had good shower. Being 6 foot meant I had to be careful not to hit my head but that wasn’t a problem- excellent choice for breakfast and a Staffordshire oat cake included in the full English. Main centre of Lichfield 2 mins walk and nice bars to choose from. With free parking the hotel provided excellent value.

All rooms(5) were beautifully appointed and all different.Fabulous beds ,a very comfortable sleep and close to the center of Lichfield so cars could stay on the carpark. Great breakfast, staff very attentive and accomadated all our requirements. We will definitely stay again if able....thank you to all the staff on duty this weekend.

In the centre of Lichfield with access to bars, restaurants and other hotels, St Johns House stands out as more than the luxurious B&B that it is listed as. The rooms are unique, offering features that make you want to try ALL the rooms; beautiful, free standing baths to vast beds. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a wedding for 60 people, at the venue, just before Christmas and could truly call it magical. Part of this was due to the magnificent way in which the whole house was decorated, with each part of the house becoming its own unique space. With a DJ in residence in the Pavilion room, adjacent to the well stocked and reasonable bar, and the Drawing room filled with board games, it catered for everyone. Added to that, the informality of high quality roaming food made for an excellent atmosphere. Dan, the proprietor, gave us care, attention and guidance throughout the process, making it so easy for us to enjoy the day we wanted, without any hassle. No request seemed challenging for him and we can't thank him and his team enough.
