Travelodge Ayr

This in the UK is labelled a budget hotel so I was not expecting much. The staff were friendly and helpful. No fridge in the rooms and only 30 mns. of free wifi were a downer. Great access for A77 and a very good restaurant next door as Travelodge don’t do food. Room rates are fine for budgets but if they increased their room rates above £60 per night their would be a backlash.

Stayed here for a wedding in Ayr...lovely comfy beds etc...AND half the price of Premiur Inn that was across the road

Милый парень с хорошим чувством юмора ;) Он быстро оформил наше прибытие и дал нам указания, как добраться до нашего номера. Номер был чистым, опрятным и свежим. Мы не заказывали завтрак, но поблизости есть Greggs и другие магазины. Я останавливался в Travelodge (Ayr) до семьи и с удовольствием остановлюсь там снова, только в следующий раз я буду бронировать напрямую, а не через Scambo, извините, я имею в виду Sembo.

Очень дружелюбный персонал, также очень помог нам с нашими потребностями. Приветливо встретили и говорили с хорошими манерами. Уделили нам время, чтобы спросить о поездке. Помогли нам с местами, куда пойти, и указаниями. Большое спасибо от всех нас. 🫶

Во время нашего визита в Travel lodge Ayr мы встретили администратора, который тепло нас приветствовал и обслужил с очаровательной улыбкой. Обстановка в отеле хорошая, и у него есть хорошее парковочное место для посетителей. Однако ванная комната не была должным образом укомплектована мылом и чистящими средствами. Wi-Fi в отеле должен быть бесплатным на всей территории, а не только в течение 30 минут.

We had booked our stay at the Travelodge in Ayr almost a month in advance. There was the offer to choose your room but there was an additional charge to do this, so we chose not too. On arrival, we got speaking to a fellow guest in the lift. He enthused about how lovely his room was and how he would definitely return there again. We got to our room to find it stifling hot as they had left the window open, which had allowed the heatwave outside to preheat our room. They had shut the curtains, but this merely served to trap the heat! In hot countries they know that to keep a room or house cool, you must keep all the windows and curtains shut during the day and only open them again in the cool of night, well at least they got the curtains bit right! I closed the window to try and stop the room heating up any further, and to also get relief from the constant traffic noise from the busy A77 road which was right outside our window. There was not a great deal of difference in terms of soundproofing between the window being open or closed! Obviously the guy we spoke to in the lift had paid the extra charge to pick his room, as ours was utterly underwhelming. The decor was tired and dated, with a small telly and universal remote control. The bathroom was very tired looking and the bathtub was so small that it triggered a memory of me being bathed as a small child in the sink at home! We unpacked and went to visit a relative in Ayr. We returned later on that night to find the car park pretty much full, but we managed to squeeze in between two works vans at the side car park which stank of urine. We got back to our still stiflingly hot room and I decided to go for a bath. There was plenty of hot water, but it was impossible to lie back and relax as the bathtub was so tiny. I opened the curtains and the window to cool the room but the window was tethered by a metal wire, which meant it could only open 4 or 5 inches! Apparently, this was for our safety. So I was unable to open the window wide to relieve the heat, we had the uplight from the the car park floodlight illuminating our room and the incessant traffic noise to help us have restful nights sleep too. There was a fan provided to move the hot air around the room, but no electrical sockets next to the bed. After little to no sleep, we left exhausted and frustrated with a long day ahead of us. It was also cheaper to book on the day than it had been to book a month in advance! Not recommended!!!

Stayed here twice recently and the young man on reception (stuart) is a real asset to the business. He is friendly and professional and deserves a pay rise!

Stayed here for one night as a stopover before we headed further into Scotland. Room basic but clean. Bed was comfy but the bathroom looked a bit tired but was functional. We paid for a breakfast box which was very basic but at least we had something to eat before we headed off. The guy on reception recommended the restaurant next door to eat and that was lovely.

Absolutely perfect hotel and location for Ayr Town Centre, the staff are so helpful and attentive, rooms are fresh , clean and modern, everything you need for an overnight or a weekend sleep over.
