Solo Villas & Retreat

Anazing place, one of the best accommodation ever! The villa (deluxe king) was super beautiful and I loved the rice field views. Supernice staff and gave us ride to town and back whenever we wanted. The only bad thing is that we could spend there only one night :(! Would definately come back again.

Had the most AMAZING experience at SoloVillas in December. Spent two weeks there with friends on a girls holiday trip. I loved the vibe of the place! It's in a beautiful location, amid rice fields on a path away from the bustle of Ubud, but only a short, 10-minute walk to the heart of town. It really is the best of all worlds in Ubud: quiet and relaxing, but close to everything. The rooms were well appointed, beautiful bathrooms, and the entire resort was well-maintained. And the daily breakfast was delicious! But even more than the ambiance and beautiful rooms, the staff was INCREDIBLE. They were friendly and available for any need we had! They helped us book spa services, recommended great places to check out, and even helped arrange excursions. The entire experience was first-class. I would highly recommend staying at SoloVillas!

I have been wanting to go to Bali for a while now and a friend recommended Solo Villas. Going to an island, a beach may be where you first look, but Ubud and Solo Villas was perfect! I could walk to so many things in Ubud, for shopping, Monkey Forest, temples, dances, etc. The location is surrounded by rice fields and is quiet and peaceful. When in town and passing other resorts or villas, they were surrounded by traffic, shopping and people. I was grateful to walk a mile from the center of town and then be in a beautiful and serene place. What I didn't quite comprehend until I stayed there was the hospitality, great service and access to even more experiences. The staff are AMAZING, so kind and helpful. I never felt that I was an inconvenience asking a question or making a request. I walked just about everywhere and I would see them in town or on the road and they always were asking if I needed a lift. The scooter rides from town can be very helpful when you need one, but I enjoyed the walk. I was able to expand my day trips by the help of private drivers and visited Sanur and Tegallalang Rice Terraces. I really feel that I will go again and use Ubud and Solo Villas as a central location to explore more of Bali. I can't say enough good things about this place. Definitely recommend.

Can you say ahhhhhhh.. well that is how we felt from the moment we arrived to leaving 3 days later. This peaceful little oasis is a great choice. , 15 mins. Walk Away from the hustle bustle of Ubud, and being transported on the back of mopeds was so fun. The rooms are beautifully appointed and our corner room -( +1200 sq.ft.) had gorgeous views of the rice fields. The staff make it extra special and can’t do enough for you. We enjoyed our day tour with Konik. Lil roosters do wake up early and can be heard, but we got used to them. Saksuma - thank you🙏

The place is so beautiful, welcoming and peaceful. The staff are so kind and caring...they are the best part of staying at Solo Villas! We woke up each day feeling happy and refreshed, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast in our Deluxe King Suite with Rice Field View (with the option to eat in the main area with other guests.) Our bathroom was huge and in the tradition of the outdoor Balinese bathrooms (but it wasn't actually exposed to the outside). The pool was beautiful and refreshing. The pictures match the actuality of Solo Villas. The villas being off in the rice fields means it's a bit far from town and only accessible by foot or motorbike. It didn't matter at all as the staff would shuttle us to and from the city center at a moment's notice 24 hours a day. It made it super easy to pop into the hot, loud and crowded city center for food and shopping. It was always so nice to return to the peace and quiet of Solo Villas at the end of a long day in the now overcrowded (but still magical) Ubud. (One tiny note...the hot water was very fickle in the shower. Sometimes scalding hot (way too hot) and then shifting to room temperature or cold. We rarely had a steady and sustained warm shower. Maybe it was just our room or just during our stay, I'm not sure. But it's to be expected out in the rice fields of Bali. It was so hot in June that the cool showers were nice.)

Indulged in a perfect stay at Solo Villas and Retreat in Ubud, featuring a refreshing swimming pool and a room with a captivating view overlooking lush rice fields. The attentive staff and convenient town trips with a dedicated driver truly made it a dream escape.

From the staff, to the breakfast, pool, room and cows in field, our experience couldn’t have been more perfect. Loved the ride back and forth on scooters with staff, what an amazing way to get to the resort! Staff kindly let us borrow a power converter for our stay. Breakfast was lovely and suggestions for dinners were spot on. I would not hesitate to recommend Solo Villas and hope to return in the future.

I adored everything about Solo Villas. It’s was small enough to be very personal, the staff were absolutely sweet and attentive, the room generous and with a soothing view across the rice paddies and the location is peaceful. This is a great spot away from the hustle and bustle of Ibud, yet close enough to visit it easily. I will definitely come back! Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and tidy and the rooms were very nice. The location is perfect, it is peaceful as it is surrounded by rice fields but only 10 minute walk to the street or a 2 minute scooter ride. This place can’t be reached by car due to the very narrow road leading to it however you just message the staff on WhatsApp and they happily transport you too and from the main street. They will also transport all your luggage on the scooter so don’t worry about having to walk it all the way from the street. We stayed with 2 young children and transporting the whole family on multiple scooters was never an issue. The pool is warm and clean and nice to relax in at the end of the day.
