Grand Hotel Slavia

I was supposed to send this review as soon as we reach home in here in England but time didn’t allow me due to work commitments hence I am doing it now. I cannot afford not to send this glowing review to this amazing hotel. We had an amazing time here! Spending our Christmas and my birthday here was very memorable! It was quiet but we had the most relaxing time. Grand Hotel Salvia is a great hotel. We love the ambiance and the interior design and where it was located. The sea view is spectacular as well as the view at the back as it is nestled in a mountain backdrop. Although we spent our holiday here during low season, it was surprisingly one of the most memorable. What makes this hotel worth remembering are the staff. We would like to specifically commend the superb service of two of the waiters/bar staff here: Ivan and Petar. Petar and Ivan are gems. They are very friendly and the service was superb! Ivan’s customer service and attention to details are excellent and he excels definitely in the bar as we cannot forget the best Espresso Martini he did for us! We have been to hundreds of bars all over the world and this is by far the best Espresso Martini! It’s just a shame that our last two days, they ran out of cream so we have to change our cocktail orders; it’s good that all the cocktails he prepared for us are amazing! Petar excels also in customer serviced skills. He’s got a positive attitude and the ability to multi-task like Ivan. His communication and problem-solving skills are one of the best we have experienced and very commendable! I will never forget also the staff’s remembering my special birthday! That was awesome and I am really grateful! Both Ivan and Petar’s skills, attitude, and knowledge are unbelievable at times. Both are very polite, personable calm, and have impressive manners which we cannot fault! As we spent most of our days and evenings in the lounge, bar and restaurant - I would say our days and evenings are worth remembering because of the staff excellent service. The waitresses, chefs and housekeeping around were also personable and helpful whenever we asked for something. So in summary- we cannot fault the customer service here! You cannot fault the food here also. The breakfast was superb. The fine dining was amazing as well as the buffet. We enjoyed all our food and the prices are very reasonable and worth paying. We also enjoyed our time in the spa, pool, sauna and gym as it was very quiet during that week. Speaking of Spa, we would also like to mention the amazing therapists and masseur in the Fontana Wellness Spa. We had an Elemis facial treatment and it was amazing! Ivana and Marina were very professional and they were really good and they know what they are doing! The very personable therapist/receptionist there (I cannot remember the name sorry! Great hotel. We upgraded to a superior room with balcony with great views of the sea, mountains and the town itself. Staff were excellent and everything worked properly and was clean and well maintained. Beds very comfortable. Bar, restaurant and terrace all great with a wide selection of food and drink. Local wines were excellent. Great location 50 yards from the beach and harbour, with numerous bars and restaurants a couple of minutes away. Note that many of the beach bars close for the season on the last weekend of September, but there is still a good choice on the seafront. Baska Voda is a lovely little town nestling between the mountains and the sea and the drive from Split Airport is extremely scenic. We'll be back.

Arrived on 24th. We had booked via a third party. So not accepting a great room, Standard double This was my 60th birthday treat. Few weeks later , GHS you can check my details . I could have cried when I saw the shoe box we had been given I didn’t want to upset my husband so didn’t make a fuss. I noticed as were unpacking an unpleasant smell in the room . It’s then I saw all the stains, of various colours on the carpet. All over the room . I went to reception and ask for the carpets to be cleaned. I showed the photos of the carpets and was assured it would be done . Returning later that evening, the room had not been cleaned so we had to sleep with the smell . Next day I asked would it be sorted that morning. We were told we would be moved. Returning lunch time , we had informed the hotel prior to booking because of a medical condition I have I need to sleep several times during the day . We were told it would be arranged by the afternoon shift. So again I had to sleep in the smelly room . We were moved later when we returned to sleep again but it was pointed out to us we had booked a small, sorry standard room and could not except a bigger room . I accept this but I expected the room to be clean …. We were given a larger room at the side of the hotel. The room service is poor, slap dash at best. The TV remote has years of grime on it and we were bitten constantly The coffee pods are free for one day only. Then cost. 1.50€ each. buy your own at Tommys A completely unforgettable trip

Room was very comfortable, well presented, towels changed every day, bedding every couple of days. We had a room front facing, no balcony, but panoramic sliding back windows, giving a superb view. Bathroom was large, with lovely walk in shower. Plenty of space for toiletries on counter top. Sleep quality was good, comfortable beds, no noise disturbance from other rooms or outside. Storage was more annoying, looked good, but wasn't really practical for 2 ladies with long dresses to hang! But we managed, wardrobe door was left open with our clothes hanging out. Breakfast was excellent, superb choice, excellent presentation and options to eat outside. The restaurant Del Posto was the best in town, and we tried the majority. Ate there 3 times, delicious lamb chops! Great choice of wine. Pricing was good and even better for guests who enjoy 15% off the bill. The hotel pool was perfect to cool off in after a day on the hot beach. The gym was OK, could have done with some lighter weights for ladies...Location of the hotel is perfect, near to everything. Staff were all warm and friendly. We would really recommend the hotel for a stay in beautiful Baska Voda

The hotel is fabulous, love the decoration of rooms and general areas.the staff from reception ,bar ,waitress,cooks and house keeping are really friendly,they are all very welcoming.The breakfast is superb and evening dinner is first class .we were on bed and breakfast but eaten in hotel restaurants on a few nights which was really good. The spa area is good but has a few issues which I am not pleased about which needs addressing,why being here they had 30% off spa but was not advertised,we only found out when we went to pay for a massage,when my wife paid for her predicure she was charged full price ,I complain about this to spa staff but it only apply to massages not anything else but I was told by one spa lady it was for everything then another it’s only on a Monday. So be careful the 30% is only massages but then I got court out ,I had a massage for one hour the they charge me the half hour rate twice €40 x 2 =€80 but other massages were €70 for an hour but were similar in treatments so if you are booking one hour go for €70 treatments ,so they made an extra €10 .oh yes you don’t get receipt for cash , but credit card you do.it looks like it’s going elsewhere. Now my other issue is Jacuzzi ,indoor pool area ,all the tiles are coming off in bottom and making the bottom sharp ,this is dangerous and should be closed someone is going to have a accident so be aware. The resort area is wonderful,the walks around bay and all restaurants. You must so the Waterfall trip ,it’s fabulous, book with hotel not Tui,it’s cheaper. Just one other thing that could be improved, a welcome drink would be nice on arrival after a long travel to get here but nothing .this is the first place in all my travels this has happened ,I was in Croatia last year and 5 years ago and we got drinks in both hotels but not here ,it just would be nice as a welcome to our hotel .very poor otherwise hotel first class.
