We are currently on our last evening here at Oh Nice Caledonia before leaving for home in the morning. British guests. We got our deal via StayForLong, also read horror stories, but the price was fantastic for 8 nights, nothing went wrong at all. The stay was great. When we arrived, staff were friendly. Not all fluent but between us it wasn’t a problem. We got to choose which floor our room was on, which was ideal for pool access. The hotel seems to be less busy on the first few days of the week and then gets busy during the weekends. Very popular with families from all across Europe and even Morocco. We had a breakfast included deal, not the biggest range available, especially for plant based guests, but there’s sufficient available including alternative milks etc. Vegetarian options is probably where they have room for improvement. We paid for dinner one night, around 70 euro for 4, and it was just a buffet style. Go out for food somewhere else, it’s not bad by any means at the hotel, it’s just nothing special which you might want from a holiday and it’d cost about the same. Buffet dinner is even worse if you’re vegetarian also. Rooms are nice, cleaners are in during breakfast time to provide new towels and bedding, so the rooms have good upkeep daily. A standard room with two beds and a sofa bed is not enough for two adults and two kids, but we managed, take this into consideration if you’re booking for four, next time I’d get a two room booking. Rooms are also air conditioned, we left both of ours on and it was a godsend coming to cool off in the room after a long day. No problem with sleeping in heat either. The only real criticism and I’m not sure why it was happening was my key card for the room stopped working three times. Not a deal breaker but it did become annoying having to walk up to reception soaked from the pool several times. I think it’s quite common as they weren’t phased upon presenting the broken card each time. In terms of facilities at the hotel, indoor pool and gym is great, outdoor pool is great. They have events for kids and guests but it’s quite repetitive, not the kind of hotel I’d stay at if I wasn’t intending to leave the premises. Pool was open from 10-8, as was the pool bar. Pool bar wasn’t expensive, average. Rooms are close enough that you should just buy your own alchohol and use the hotels plastic cups they provide, you’d save yourself a lot of money. Directly around the hotel, there isn’t much, twenty minute walk will get you down to the beach, but there isn’t much there other than more expensive hotels and their beach bars. Cancelada is the main town just west of the hotel, some nice restaurants there that wouldn’t cost too much in a taxi, but not a beachfront town. My recommendation would be to hire a car for this hotel, much better is Marbella and Estapona for food and things to do. These are probably a bit too far to be economical with purely taxis. Do some research on day trips before coming as you
