Ava Resort Cancun - All Inclusive

The resort was fantastic, it reminded us of a Vegas style hotel in Cancun. We wanted more of an outdoor beach experience., and it didn't feel like that for us. The checkin took longer than expected about an hour, which was not a huge inconvenience. We had 2 issues that were concerning. 1) the first day we were in the pool enjoying the obstacle course. While we were there you could see a huge storm coming. As the wind picked up, no one was removed from the pool, all the umbrellas were still open. The wind got so strong umbrellas, chairs were flying through the air. Extremely dangerous. We've stayed at other resorts that close every thing down at the slightest increase of wind. This was a major risk for the guest. 2) 3 days int to our trip we came down with a parasite that ruined our entire trip. 20 days later still recovering. My wife and I each have lost 12 lbs since. We were extremely careful with the water using bottled water to brush our teeth. We've stayed at several resorts in Mexico and never an issue. We found out from the Ava fan page there was an outbreak of a parasite the week we were there. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated event. Since our return, We've spoken with several couples that have vacationers at Ava and gotten sick. There is clearly an issue here. As for the food, the steak house was good, steak amazing, sides and dessert below average. Hibachi ( which I couldn't care less for) was surprisingly great, especially the sushi and the servers. My favorite was the Mexican place. Great food and great service. All in all this is nowhere close to a 5 star resort, it's 4 at best. But know that there is a high probability you will contract some type of sickness while you are there. Until that gets remedied, don't waste your vacation.

A beautiful nice resort. It will be much better when the beach is completed with Tiki Bar. Pools were pretty chilly. I was told that pool heaters will be turned on December 1. Tharvin and Manuel were both awesome butlers. Cice was our breakfast waitress. She was on top of refills and anything else we needed. Angel, the bellboy, was very courteous and helpful with our luggage. Milksa? Was our pool waitress. She made sure we had plenty to drink and eat. We loved Copal & The Butcher restaurants. When they get more nightlife booked, Ava will be a jewel!

I stayed at AVA Cancun with my wife as part of a large group for a close friend’s 50th birthday. Given the Hard Rock brand, I expected professionalism and good judgment. What we experienced instead was neither. One evening, while the adults were, resort staff and security went to my friend’s suite and treated a group of teens and young adults including my sons like they were doing something wrong, despite the fact they were simply in the room with room service. No effort was made to reach the parents before staff started questioning the kids and later filing a report that implied underage drinking and “unattended minors” — a version of events that does not match what actually happened. The situation was then compounded by unfounded accusations toward a member of our group just because he was a Jamaican. Despite the number of complaints that we filed, no one came back and addressed or resolved anything from a large, well-known resort, I expected better judgment, better communication, and more accountability.

The resort experience was great, however, the staff are what put this trip over the top. From check-in to the daily service, we couldn't have been treated better. If you have the opportunity to go, do it. If you have butler services request Rafael and Plutarco, you will not be disappointed! They're the best. Sidenote, the beach isn't the greatest, the area was struggling with the seaweed, but we know that is no fault of the resorts.

The resort is beautiful. Restaurants are incredible. Especially the French resturant Ches Moi the best meal of our trip. Pools are beautiful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Room service is great and a good selection of options. Our Butler Norma was by far the best butler we have had in the last couple of years! Spa was very nice. The Gym was one of the best of all the properties we have stayed at.

Top tier All Inclusive Resort! About 15 minutes from the airport. Which is the only drawback about the resort is the constant airplanes flying over. But besides that, it’s a beautiful wonderful fantastic resort. A massive resort with multiple restaurants and activities to partake. My girls went to the kids club every single day and spent approximately 3 to 4 hours there each and every day. They have so many pools to choose from. They also have an adult only pool. The food is delicious. I was quite surprised at the delivery of services at each of the restaurant’s. Be prepared to do a lot of work. Make sure you make reservations at each of the restaurant
