Absolutely charming place with charming hosts. Ben and Michael make a great team, the attention to detail is superb, dinner was lovely (don’t know if I loved the warm hummus but it didn’t detract from the whole experience). Definitely recommend staying here.

A beautiful building set in beautiful grounds. They only open for dinner on limited days but they recommended a number of restaurants and we went to Les Flots in La Rochelle which was excellent. Super breakfast with option to cook eggs as wells as continental. Nice British owners.

Manoir de Plaisance is perfection. Our three night stay was one of the best stays we have had anywhere …….. ever!!! Ben & Michael have created a paradise that guests are lucky to be able to experience. Stunning setting, luxurious rooms, delicious breakfasts & divine dinner and every wish taken care of. I just wished we lived closer to France to be able to stay here more often.

Far more than just a B&B , this is a truly magical place, offering everything you desire . Not? Nothing Wouldn’t fault anything - Ben and Michael please don’t change a thing! Next time we visit we will book in on an evening when dinner is being served as we are sure this would be amazing too!!! Thank you so much !!!

My husband and I stayed at Manoir de Plainance for 8 days last month - it was a truly memorable experience, and we genuinely didn't want to leave. Ben and Michael are fabulous hosts - literally NOTHING was too much trouble! We really felt like we were in paradise ... delicious food and a beautiful environment. Everything is so tastefully done. We will definitely be back!

It is impossible to complement this beautiful house and its surrounding estate of lakes and walks too highly. Set in the Charente-Maritime Region within easy reach of La Rochelle, Ben and Michael have created a beautiful and tranquil place with an impeccable and relaxed touch. Tha food is also excellent and Ben and Michael are the most wonderful hosts, wy wife and I will certainly return.

A three night stay was not enough. Set in it's well manicured and wooded grounds this elegant hunting lodge is well worth a visit. Elegant decor adds to the experience. Our room was on the front overlooking the grounds. Double aspect with a small balcony. A large bathroom, with bath and walk-in shower.Excellent food is available on, in our case, two nights. Ben cooks the night of the local markets.Properly cooked and well presented and the closeness of the sea makes for some great fish dishes. A very good and not expensive wine list completes it. A large pool with an " honesty bar" close by. Try the homemade ice cream. The elegant drawing room has another honesty bar for pre-dinner drinks, very civilised. Your hosts care for it all so well. Close enough to the coast for a ride out to a seafood lunch. Breakfast is one of the best we have had anywhere. Varied and very fresh.Book early, we are sure it will be full quickly.

Fabulous place to stay. A beautiful house in beautiful a setting. All the amenities you could hope for and the hosts are amazing. We will certainly be coming back and we could not recommend this place highly enough.

Ben and Michael, experienced in hospitality in the UK, have discovered their French idyll by transforming this substantial hunting lodge. The warmth of their hospitality and attention to detail was highly appreciated. Our room was beautifully refurbished - as was the lounge with a roaring fire where we enjoyed our welcome tea. Following a stroll around the mature grounds and lakes, we were treated to a four course meal of extraordinary quality. We were completely bowled over by our stay at la Manoir de Plaisance and we will be back for sure. Thank you, Ben and Michael!
