Hotel Residenz Begaswinkel

I loved staying at this hotel! It's a little tricky to find as it is tucked away off the main street, but once found it is in a perfect location for visiting all of the main tourist sites in Berlin. If you like to walk, everything is within a reasonable walking distance. If not, there are two close metro stations. The room was clean and the bedding was wonderful. Of special note, is the breakfast room on the top floor. It was cold and rainy when we were there, but I'm sure it would be lovely to eat outside in better weather. The food was all delicious and the ladies were very friendly and welcoming.

Our first floor room with a balcony was very spacious and it gave us a lovely place to sit in the evenings and enjoy some food and a beer. The balcony overlooks a small, quiet garden at the front of the building. Here you can hear birdsong in the tall trees and the trickling of the water feature below. There are at least two supermarkets nearby, a large off-licence and other small eateries. This is a good location for visiting the Neue Nationalgalerie and the Gemaldegalerie with its collection of old masters. You can walk to these easily from the hotel. The U-Bahn stop is not far way. The service was excellent and the buffet breakfast was very good. There were two citrus juices available but I would have liked there to have been some apple juice as I suffer from acid reflux. There was chilled water so this helped. The room was clean and warm and the bed comfortable. The shower was the best shower I have ever used as the water pressure was excellent. There was no kettle in the room so you will need to bring your own travel kettle and cafetiere if you want a hot drink. I would definitely go back here as we really enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel in the middle of tall and modern buildings. Difficult to find and a small passageway access from a building. Requires to improve aspects such as provide more amnetes (such as kettle), extend the opening of reception. No elevator and no wheelchair entrance available.

Nice piece of hotel in the middle of tall and modern buildings. Difficult to find since one must go under a passageway from a building to get to the back part of the street to find the hotel. Late arrival if you do not have your code you won't be able to get the key so make sure you get your email with the confirmation first. Rooms are quite in order, old style. Bathroom not so big but good enough for a good shower. My room had a nice balcony. Breakfast is average... No elevator and no wheelchair entrance available
