May Cottage B&B

If you want a cosy, comfortable friendly place to stay, look no further. Joan and Simon offer a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The beds are large and comfortable, the breakfast has a long list of options and is freshly cooked to your liking. There is parking on site, which is important in this area. And right on the doorstep is Bowness. Perfect for a relaxing stay.

We had the most delightful 3 night stay at May Cottage. A beautiful, traditional cottage situated in a quiet spot but only a few minutes walk from pubs, restaurants and a quaint high street full of some wonderful arts and craft, boutiques, souvenir shops and confectionery. Our room was lovely with everything you could want and the kingsize bed was super comfortable. The ensuite was spacious with an easy to use, powerful shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Our full, cooked breakfast was one of the best we've had, the garlic mushrooms were delicious. The owners Simon and Joan, are a lovely and so welcoming. I would highly recommend May Cottage, we will be staying again in 2024!

Excellent B&B just a few minutes walk into the centre of Bowness. We stayed in room 1 which was great for us, large comfortable bed, great fluffy pillows and 2 chairs next to the window to enjoy a morning cuppa. Simon and Joan could not have been more accommodating, such a lovely friendly couple, we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, and it was so nice to sit and chat. Thank you again, we will definitely be back. We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at May Cottage. Joan and Simon are excellent hosts, giving a warm welcome on our arrival and providing a great service throughout. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and room well appointed. Breakfast was pre-ordered, which I think is a great idea, was well prepared and presented and delicious. It set us up for the day. There were plenty of books and leaflets about the local area which we could borrow, and suggestions for evening meals were spot on. I have no hesitation in highly recommending May Cottage for other travellers to this area.

Spent three nights at May Cottage we had a warm friendly welcome from Joan & Simon we were given a first floor front room which was very nice with a good size ensuite The room had a good selection of Tea Coffee milk and biscuits and some lovely toiletries.and was very clean as was the whole house.. Breakfast was ordered the night before which had a Excellent selection I would recommend the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and tomato served on a muffin a nice alternative to a cooked breakfast.There is parking at the rear of the B &B .May cottage is very convenient for the centre of Bowness with all it's various activities

Wonderful experience, best B&B we have ever stayed. The location, cleanliness, food, the quality of the beds, shower/bathroom were all 5 star. It was the little details like that makes the May Cottage different like makeup remover clothes, presentation of the breakfast (great strong coffee),the full English and salmon /shambled eggs were the best, free parking etc. Joan and Simon are the friendliest and most helpful owners I have ever met, we will return to Bowness and it will be the May Cottage every time.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at May Cottage. It was exceptional, with a really lovely warm welcome from hosts Joan and Simon, who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we required. Our room was spotlessly clean and warm, with an amazingly comfortable, huge bed. We had a delicious cooked breakfast each morning too! We will definitely be going back .......

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hosts Joan and Simon did everything to make us feel at home at May Cottage, Great nights sleep, exceptional breakfast. Spa passes big plus. Close to the centre of Windermere. Would thoroughly recommend.
