Hotel Montovani

I was nice because i just needed 1 night for my businesse trip and it was cheap, bice hotel i recommend it!

We booked a double room economy for 2 adults and 1 child. The truth is we did not notice a special mention for the child's age, so the booking was made for a child younger than 1 yr old. We came across an extremely small room with its only window on the street level next ro the cars parked just outside. The radiator was 30 xm from the bed, so the room temperature was totally uneven and caused a very bad sleep due to the heat. Also, the TV led light proved to be very unpleasant during the night. Gladly, Mr. Taulent was extremely helpful, always willing to find a solution to all problems. He made an arrangement for an extra bed (barely fitting in the room) and helped us in all visit arrangements. The breakfast was OK and the location is fine as well -practically 15m walk from the city center. I believe Mr.Taulent, with his happy and helpful spirit is keeping the place together. If you are going to visit, don't go for the economy room unless you absolutely need to. The triple room presented on the picture gallery does not reflect the double+ 1 child room. By leaving the hotel, we find that the hotel needs certain maintenance works such as the main room door which seems far from secure. People make our guest experience better and therefore we are grateful for Mr.Taulent.

Nice hotel, situated in a quiet side street off the main ring road. 5min walk to T'Zand and about 7mins from the free parking area. Free parking is used by everyone and spaces are limited. It took a while driving up and down and we're just about to admit defeat when a space became available. No lift at hotel. Check-in we were told was self service but on arrival reception was open. All fairly straightforward. Room we were given was spacious. However it was tired. Tiles were broken on the bathroom floor, these are dangerous, almost cut my foot on them and we could not close the bathroom door because it caught on the broken tile. The mirror glass in the hall had a crack in it. The toilet did not smell particularly nice. The duvet had stains on it. No hand soap provided on the separate toilet or main bathroom. Good blackout curtains. Quiet room. Bed was exceptionally soft, 2 pillow choices, plenty of space to stow clothes and luggage. Netflix was available. Breakfast included two cereal choices, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, orange juice and a selection of rolls and pastries. No provision for gluten, dairy or lactose intolerance. Drinks came from a machine and it tasted of whatever drink was selected before. Teabags had run out, asked for more and was given after a bit of a search the last teabag in the hotel. Overall, for the price, location and compared to other places we've stayed in Bruges we would consider staying here again.

The Hotel Montovani is a reasonably priced hotel that offers you all that you would expect or need. Its biggest asset, of course, is its location. It is located a block off the main avenue, Hoefijzerlaan and is just mere blocks away from the Historic City Center. The hotel has a lounge area and a glass covered veranda that opens out to a lovely small garden. This was the ideal location in which to enjoy the delicious breakfast or, perhaps to relax in the afternoon with a hot beverage. These were included in the room rate. The rooms were comfy and clean, the bed and pillows, comfortable, enabling you to wake up refreshed and ready to start your day of exploration. The service was friendly and efficient. There was free wifi. There was no onsite parking, but free parking was available on the nearby avenue, just minutes away. Bruges is the capital and largest city of West Flanders. It was inducted into UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2000. We were visiting Bruges with the intent of adding this World Heritage Site to our list, in this case, there would be three. Bruges's Historic City Centre is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets, medieval buildings. In fact, along with cities such as Amsterdam, it is often referred to as the "Venice of the North'. The Belfry of Bruges is part of the World Heritage Site of Belfries of Belgium and France list, which includes 56 Belfries in total. The tower, which dates from the 13th century, has 366 steps which lead to the top of the 272 feet high building. This is a must "to do" climb! The third site is the Ten Wijngaerde Beguinage, a beguinage built in the 13th century and included in the World Heritage Site of "Flemish Beguinages". A Beguinage was an architectural complex which was built to house beguines, lay religious women who lived in the community without taking vows or retiring from the world. As we were only here for two nights, I do not have a lot of recommendations on where to eat dinner. The one dinner that we did eat here, was at the Cafe Sportsman, situated on the Markt. The meal was good and the service was good, but what was most extraordinary, was the location. There are many restaurants situated around this square, so your choice is quite overwhelming. The buildings are extraordinaire, the Belfry was located across from us, and in the evening, the light is very distracting. A visit to Bruges is worthwhile and actually deserves more than two nights, but there was still much ahead in our journey. So whether you stay longer or shorter, the Montovani comes with a high recommendation!

Just outside the busy area, provided instructions to free parking close by that was walkable actually once we park the car we really never moved it walked everywhere in town. The property itself was nice well kept.

So it said secure onsite parking. There was no onsight parking and i showed very nice receptionist, he took a picture of my screen. This was the reason we chose this hotel. He did allow us to put our expensivebikes in the room (thank you) before taking our car to the free parking half a mile away and needless to say this was on the street. The room was big, but very dark and with very thin doors, which as it was opposite reception was not great in the morning.the situation of the hotel, especially if you don't have a car, is great. Easy ealking/cycling to all areas.

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff. Cosy room, quiet and free parking close by. This hotel rates as a 2 star... both my partner and I agree it should rate a lot higher! The bathroom was exceptional, very modern with a lovely shower. If I had to be picky , I would have liked Tea & Coffee facilities inside the room but overall a wonderful stay.

lovely friendly and very helpful staff. 4-person room was ideal for our family with really comfortable beds, Larger than average tv. Separate toilet and shower ensuite which really suited our needs. Continental breakfast was fresh and well stocked. Location to town is perfect. Overall, a really good hotel.
