Inn Cairns

So we just checked in and we’re staying for a week. I’m a housekeeping supervisor so I did what any housekeeper would do in a hotel room, do a thorough inspection! At first glance I could see the room was old and dusty. Had a closer look and to my surprise everything was dusty and dirty. Dust on air vents above the stove, aircon full of mould and dust all over, the cups were dirty, the bar fridge had hair in it and mould in the shower. Great location but filthy room.

We selected this place as it was part of a package, was centrally located and featured a seating area and cooking facilities. We were pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the accommodation and the service. The property is an older property but has been undergoing upgrades. The accommodation we had had been freshly painted. There was a washing machine & dryer, a fridge, induction stove top and microwave. There was also a balcony and access to a salt- water pool and barbecue area. Its location is also ideal as it is across the road from a Woolworth, 2 blocks back from the esplanade, one block from the night market, 2 blocks from Rusty's market. Also, there are many eateries and activities within a 10 minute walk. Can be a bit noisy especially on a weekend. Might also depend on the time of year I.e. school holidays. Recommended for everyone!

Very central location for Esplanade , bus central, bars and restaurants literally across the rd Woolworths supermarket brilliant for Inn cairns boutique apartments as the kitchen area was well equipped for self catering, the apartments were spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. I felt the bathroom needed an update but was spacious with washing machine and dryer. The pool area had a BBQ area with fridge very useable The staff were very friendly.. check in after hrs left a bit to be desired for overseas clients without WiFi as no one responded to the bell fortunately an Australian lady who knew the routine was checking in Our apt was on the rear of the building and weekends was very noisy with the nightclub until 4am Overall a pleasant experience

The rooms are Shabby, whilst in a convenient spot, this also means you hear all the road noise a d the drunks late at night. The shower curtain stank. The lounge uncomfortable and old and security very poor with one dodgy / flimsy lock on front door. No staff at night and when I rang about out of control party I got put through to call centre. Not recommended

I booked THEN read the Tripadvisor reviews and was apprehensive, but room 201 was exactly what we hoped. Clean, enough space, everything worked, a bit out of date-looking (which is not a problem for us). The man at the desk was extremely friendly and helpful, and he said the wifi might be touch and go but it was fine for us, and we rocked up to hopefully stow our luggage at 10:15am but the room was ready so they just let us in early! Very convenient! The shower that other reviews claim was mouldy has been recently replaced, definitely the most modern-looking and clean feature of the apartment. I kind of wanted a bath but you can’t have everything I guess. Make sure you read the fine print that there’s no oven in the kitchenette, I didn’t read closely enough. The hot water pressure & temperature was always fantastic. Couple tiles cracked in bathroom but who cares. Maybe the worst aspect was how echoey the hallway and rooms were, poor soundproofing, so we were all up in our neighbours’ business but we did get used to it. We were provided a sachet of laundry powder for the washing machine, and there was a whole bottle of dishwashing liquid, lots of cooking utensils – happy with these. No oil for cooking but I am not really sure about the etiquette for this. We would stay here again for the price and location; we were looking to save money on accommodation and this provided us with everything we fundamentally needed in an apartment. While the unit (and building) was looking a bit tired, Inn Cairns is centrally based with access to everything you need including a safe and secure car park beneath the building. Excellent spot to base yourself for day trips and drives around the Far North. Only issue we had was we asked a staff member for help regarding pricing for day trips but didn't receive an answer back.

Centrally located- no frills Hotel is as advertised, in need of renovation but we always had the pool to ourselves and apartment was very spacious. So if you are on a budget and after a no frills place to stay in central Cairns I highly recommend.

I made the booking for 3 people (my parents and me), four months before the date. When I was at the airport (one hour before the check-in), they called me to tell me that they didn't have a room for 3 and one of us needed to sleep on the ARMCHAIR. My parents are 65 years old so I said NO and that I wanted to talk with the manager. She took the phone and I explained that I was going to stay there for ONE MONTH, so it was impossible to sleep in the armchair. She started yelling at me and she told me literally "I don't mind, I am going to cancel the booking and that is all". I begged her to not cancel it and to let me buy a mattress and put it there, because it was going to be impossible to find a flat for the whole month. She said yes and after that I hoped that she was going to try to fix the bad management that they had, but instead of that... - they DIDN'T CLEAN the room OR CHANGE THE SHEETS/TOWELS in the whole month - they only gave us two towels, so we need to bought another one - they gave us one 20ml shampoo and body soap for the whole month And of course, the rooms are nothing compared to the pictures!
