We’ve stayed at Le Meridien Ra Beach Hotel & Spa every year for the past 7 years, and sadly, 2025 will be our last. The hotel has changed — and not for the better. Prices continue to rise, but the quality, service, and facilities have gone in the opposite direction. ✖️ Spa renovation: flashy but pointless The hotel recently “renovated” its spa — but now, guests must pay €20–40 just to access the indoor pool, which used to be free. Instead of one huge pool, there are three tiny pools left, and most guests don’t even use the space anymore. Worse — this so-called luxury spa doesn’t even offer basic services like manicure or pedicure. I was told there are no nail technicians available, so I had to travel to Barcelona just to get one. For a 5-star resort, that’s truly unacceptable. 🛏 Rooms are worn out and poorly equipped Amenities are limited to a shower cap and a razor — not even cotton swabs are provided, which should be standard in any high-end hotel. Towels are thin and overused, more like rags than resort linens. AC hardly works inside the room, but was broke down twice during our stay in the hall. Only one elevator was working, and it stayed that way for a full week. No scales in the rooms or the gym — just one set at reception. 🍽 Dull, repetitive food Daily options include bacon, pork, and sometimes chicken — that’s it. Vegetables are basic (peas or stewed mix), desserts are always the same, and fruit selection is minimal. We requested hashbrowns for breakfast and were told, “Oh, hashbrown is hard to cook. We don’t have it often”. IMAGINE! We are talking about potatoes! À la carte was even worse: Tough octopus, Cannelloni was actually a pancake with chopped chicken (manager deduct this from our bill) Sangria? Just a pitcher of ice with 3 orange slices (then manager added fruits, let’s be honest jar of sangria for over 30€ can’t be with two slices of oranges) 🌊 The beach is filthy This summer we visited 5 countries — this was by far the dirtiest beach. It’s half public, but Plastic, trash, jellyfish everywhere, and no one cleans it. If you want people to pay pay €100/day for a front-row sunbed, I assume you can clean it at least. Sunbeds “reserve” early in the morning with towels. Staff does nothing about it. 🧊 Zero loyalty recognition As long-time returning guests, we received no perks, no upgrades, no appreciation. When we asked why, staff literally said: “Do other hotels do it differently?” Yes — they do. Bahía del Duque ( that cost cheaper and with amazing beach) offer warm welcomes and loyal guest benefits. Here, it’s nothing. 🏊 Rooftop pool = underwhelming The main outdoor pool is on the roof, under direct sun, with no shade or atmosphere. It feels like something you’d find in a budget city hotel — not a beach resort. ⭐ Staff try their best To be fair, the young staff are friendly, hardworking, and genuinely helpful. They’re the only part of the hotel that still feels 5-star. Unfortunately, their efforts aren’t enough to offset
