Ellerman House

È stata la prima tappa del nostro viaggio di nozze. La locaction è mozzafiato, con vista oceano e tramonto. L’interno è curato nel minimo dettaglio e ricco di arte (c’è addirittura una galleria d’arte dentro l’hotel). Price ci ha fatti sentire a casa, tutto il personale è stato gentilissimo e disponibile. Cucina e ristorante top. Cantina pazzesca. Camere pulite, curate e con un letto enorme. Le camere venivano sistemate spesso e ogni volta ci lasciavano un piccolo pensierino che ci faceva sentire coccolati (ciabatte per la notte, un cioccolatino, ecc). Ci ritorneremo sicuramente e lo consigliamo altamente.

This is like entering your home, but with 6star service and ambience! The location is special and even when all eleven rooms are occupied, the space in the garden, around the pool feels like you are on your own. Service from the Ellerman Team is world class and the art collection around the house gives you that feeling of being at home. A “must” is to visit the wine collection….just amazing. If you want the very best from a boutique Hotel, this really is unbeatable.

Without doubt, this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever had the good fortune to experience. I work in a 5-star hotel myself and consider myself fairly exacting when it comes to hotels - but Ellerman ticks all the boxes! I can’t believe it’s taken me nearly 6 months to write this review, but I’ve been trying to think of everything that makes the house so special. Yes, the setting is magnificent. Yes, the food is great and the amenities are spot on. The artwork and art spaces are extraordinary, unique and wonderful, but what REALLY makes Ellerman House great is its people. The staff, and I mean every single staff member you meet, is friendly, welcoming, genuine and unstuffy. You are made to feel like you are guests at their house and it’s really a pleasure to have you. From the driver who not only fetched us at the airport but retuned some clothes I had been foolish enough to leave in my room, to the spa therapists who delivered glorious massages, to the waiters, housekeepers and management, everyone is excellent. On talking to several staff, it transpires that many are long-standing, and all sing the praises of their management and owners, who were apparently very supportive of the staff cohort during lockdown, retaining all staff and resulting in great staff retention and loyalty. Now that I’ve got that high praise out of the way, on to the specifics about the hotel. Rooms are magnificent, well-proportioned and all have on display some of the amazing artwork in the house’s collection. I loved the products they supply and when I use the glorious hand cream that was left on my bed at turndown, I still think of Ellerman! The sea views are unparalleled and the level of comfort is second to none. My daughter loved the 24-hour pantry, filled with delicious treats and snacks! The lounges and shared areas are all beautifully decorated and full of style and taste, yet still comfortable and welcoming. Sundowners on the deck were accompanied by an excellent live singer who set the mood perfectly and made cocktails hour that bit extra special. Don’t leave without visiting the brilliant private art gallery on the property and the sensational wine cellar with its unique design and history. I absolutely adored my stay at Ellerman House, cannot wait to return, and cannot fault it!

Fantastic property - one of the best I have ever visited. Our stay was more like being a guest in someone's home rather than staying at commercial property. The furnishings and decor (and art) in the hotel were remarkable. And the staff went out of their way to find opportunities to please you. The staff addressed all guests by name, remembered from day to day what plans you had the previous day. Management visited with all guests every morning in the dining room to make sure they were happy with their stay and to come up with ways to make it even more memorable. Overall a great experience.

Hands down this is the best hotel in the Cape in fact South Africa . Our room was spacious with the most stunning ocean view. The food is out of this world ( thanks to Chef Kieran ) their wine menu is one of the best. The staff were so friendly and welcoming , you almost feel like you’re in a beautiful home , rather than a hotel. There are so many beautiful decorated lounges to chill in , and the gardens and pool area are in immaculate condition. If you are interested in art , they offer art tours as they have a huge art collection . And the wine gallery and wine tasting is a must . Zolani did the wine tour and what an enthusiastic , engaging young man he was . The 6pm sundowners on the deck with canapés are all complimentary, we felt like we were on the Italian riviera it was so beautiful. Marlyn was always on hand to make us our special cocktails and chat about the menus. And then the pantry! just the thing if you are feeling peckish , it’s filled with cakes, sweets, biscuits and so much more and you can raid the pantry at any time of the day or night . All in all it was a magical experience and I can’t wait to go back. 2 nights was far too short. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so special, I can’t wait to come back
