There are some great places to walk your dog, whether it is just around our neighborhood, or to the ocean at the government dock, or one of the trails or marinas in the area. Also fun for your pup is a popular off leash dog park (Cy Hampson Park) about a 10-minute drive away.Nearby hiking trails and a duck pond trail are a joy to walk. We are within a short walking distance of a few marinas, one of which has a great pub and a cafe/fine dining restaurant.The quaint seaside town of Sidney is just a 5 minute drive away. From there you can book whale watching tours, and kayak rentals. A Sidney Island Spit boat will take you to sandy beaches for your picnic lunch, purchased from one of the wonderful bakeries located here. The ocean pier walk about will take you to wonderful restaurants and Port Sidney to view boats and shopping! The summer months offer many activities from live concerts by the ocean to street markets. The Army and Navy Club has popular live band music every Friday night, a large dance floor, pool tables and darts. Open to all. Truly the best place for fun.Cycling is very popular here with a paved trail taking you from near FireThorn Manor to Sidney and beyond to experience island life. This property is an entire one level house with 3 full bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The house is fully furnished and includes all the bedding and towels required for any duration of stay. Relax in the living room and watch a movie or play video games together with the PS4. Local cable is included for sports fans. The dining room has a full size dining room table with room for 6. In the fully equipped kitchen you have beautiful quartz counters and stainless steel appliances along with a wide selection of all the utensils and tools required to prepare meals. There is a selection of basic spices and cooking supplies included. You will also find a Keurig machine with an ample supply of coffee pods and a variety of specialty teas. There is a full sized washer and dryer with a good supply of detergent pods and dryer sheets for all of your laundry needs. There are two mini split heat pump units in the house which easily manage the temperature year round and provide air conditioning in the summer. The back yard is a fully fenced space and it can be accessed from the side yard as well as from the primary bedroom. The driveway can easily accommodate 2 cars and there is also parking on the street if needed as well. The house is located in a subdivision of new homes with many young families. I would ask guests to be respectful of our neighbours and remember that Nature's Backyard is a no smoking property and that the quiet hours of 10 pm to 7 am please be respected. Normal check in time is 5pm but early check in may be an option depending on the calendar. This is a function of the availability of my cleaning provider. We provide a wagon. We recommend everyone get out and survey the road before driving down to make sure they are comfortable with it. It is an adventure to get to! But paradise at the end of the road.
