La Cochon Rose Motel

Our visit to Saint Arnaud for the 'Saints and Sinners' bicycle ride weekend was made even more memorable by our stay at La Cochon Rose Motel (The Pink Pig). Traveling from Melbourne on a Friday afternoon, our group of three were pleased with how easy the late check-in process was. We spent two nights in the residential apartment located upstairs in the main building, and it truly exceeded our expectations. This hidden gem offers a full kitchen equipped with every appliance you could need, along with plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, and thoughtful touches like complimentary water, milk, tea, and coffee. The large bathroom was spotless, with fresh towels and complimentary soaps. The spacious lounge and dining areas were perfect for relaxing after our rides. The boutique-style rooms, furnished with antique décor, add a unique charm. The couches were comfy and the beds, dressed in crisp white linen, were wonderfully comfortable – just what we needed after a long day on the bike. La Cochon Rose Motel is a beautifully restored historic hotel in a peaceful location with off-street parking, yet still conveniently close to the town centre. Our host, Annie, provided warm, old-fashioned country hospitality, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. This motel offers fantastic value for money, and we can't recommend it enough!

There aren’t enough stars to rate this place. My bike riding buddies and I stayed in the ‘Owners residence’ which had 6 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, lounge with TV, dining room/area, stunning bathroom, and private toilet. The bedrooms were huge and very clean with crisp white bed linen and comfortable mattresses. A great nights sleep. Perfect set up for a group of friends or a family. Fabulous period furniture. Water hot with good pressure. A unique place to stay, guaranteed not to disappoint. Check in and out was very easy, with fast and helpful communication. Annie the host was delightful and couldn’t be more helpful. Way more that 5 stars

Thank you so so much. My family of 6 stayed for 3 nights and have experienced an enchanting weekend away. The building facade is historic, the interior is classic, updated in keeping with Victorian style, beautiful antiques, warm and cosy, linen was fresh, crisp and plentiful. The kitchen in The 6 bedroom Residence is perfect for our breakfast, lunch and dinners. Endless hot water in the shower, the bath was just wgat we needed, beautiful soaps and lighting. On-site parking and walking distance to everything. Dust free, perfect beds, pillows were ideal. Thank you. My elderly parents loved it and my kids. We will be back x ♥️

Small and quirky motel rooms, like stepping back into the 1960s with the original decor and fittings. The old reverse cycle air con worked a treat, and combined with the oil column heater to heat the room on the coldest of nights. Most importantly, it was clean and bed was amazingly comfortable. Nice quiet location yet on the main street. Only downside - nowhere to place your things in bathroom. would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately this motel didn't impress, as it was somewhat dated and access was down a dark narrow lane. The carpark provided very little room to turn around. We arrived on a wet evening and had to splash through a sloshy carpark. There was no internet while we were there; in modern times that is like a pub with no beer.

The motel units are located at the rear of the grand victorianstreet facade. There are only five units. The rtoom was comfortable and quiet and well located for easy walking Ccess to the main street. The decore is dated but the room was clean and well looked after. Would happily stay again. The host was very obliging when correcting the booking date after I made a mistake with the dates.
