Aura Hotel Barú

First impression: very nice, clean, friendly. Beds are very comfortable. Food and drinks are great; very nice servers and restaurant manager is awesome! The only place to get air condition is your own bedroom. Otherwise plan t be sweating the entire time. Buy snacks and lots of bottled water before getting there. Unfortunately, some won’t tell you there’s an up charge for practically everything. Ironically, the front desk continuously told us to be aware of sellers at public beaches as they tend to quickly scam tourists. IE: the hotel offered airport transfer for a flat rate; upon arriving to the airport the driver provided no direction as to where to meet. Then was charged 25% more for making him wait. There’s no where in hotel grounds with air condition, except your own bedroom. The two tiny private beaches are a joke. It’s not the soft Caribbean sand, full of algae. They do offer boat rides to actual beaches. But what you’re paying for this hotel, they should (at the very least) offer complimentary rides to the nearest beach. Side note: DO NOT go to Playa Azul, you’ll never be left alone by in-your-face sellers, small dirty beach

Excellent stay. The room was very good with everything you need for a good stay. From the room on the second floor there is an incredible view of the sea. The beach is small but perfect to rest and take the kids. There are activities for them. The food is excellent and the service exceptional. The staff is very attentive. I had an event at night near the hotel and they gave me the phone number of the person in charge to open the door at 3 in the morning when I arrived. Truly an excellent stay.

Amazing stay! Private beaches, amazing food and incredible service! I did not want to leave, I wish I would have stayed an extra night. Very private, so great for couples. If you can, I recommend a two night stay

Looking for a place to relax and stay away from noisy downtown? Well, look somewhere else. It might be expectation vs reality but me and my pregnant wife came here looking to get away from the city for a few days but this place had no peace whatsoever. Also, the price didn't reflect the quality of the services. 1. Food: breakfast are pretty simple. Few options (normally 2) and not good ones (please avoid the potato and meet dish). Asked for coffee, but they told me "the guy from the bar is having breakfast". The coffee arrived 30 mins later. Lunch: extra salty "casuela" is not good. But "fish mote" was amazing. For dinner, they should have some lighter options, burgers or sandwiches. You have to pick from the same lunch menu. After few days, we were a little bored from the same menu. 2. Service. From the reception, the lady was really nice to us. Most of the people were but still there is space to improve. The beach beds could be cleaner. The first day we had a waiter that had no idea what was on the menu. It's OK to be new at your job, but he didn't manage it well. 3. Massage Do NOT take any massages here. The ladies, as they were really nice, they don't have any kind of certification or professional training. I felt they had no idea what they were doing. It was mostly painful. In general, wouldn't recommend to come here at least during January season.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Located right on the beach, it offers breathtaking views and direct access to the sea. The property is beautifully maintained, with every detail designed to create a sense of peace and comfort. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor—every meal was a delight. I truly loved every moment of my stay; it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beautiful seaside escape.

We have been here for almost one week and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Everything was just perfect - rooms, pool, food and infrastructure. But the best have been all the friendly people working at Aura: Lordi, Oswaldo, Natalia, Richard, David and all the others. Muchas gracias 🙏
