Monte Dourado

Loved Monte Dourado, we stayed in a superior 2 bed sea view apartment and it was amazing. We had everything we needed in the apartment. We didnt use the pools alot as we went to the beach. It is up a hill but that was no issue for us. The ladies at reception were very helpful. We would definitely return.

We were blown away with the size of the apartment and it had everything we needed including a washing machine and dishwasher. We didn’t pay for a sea view but we could see the sea from the balcony which was a nice bonus. The pool areas were always quiet and we often had the pool to ourselves which was lovely. There is a bakery just down the hill which we went to for fresh bread and pastries for breakfast and there is also a supermarket a short walk up the hill which was really handy. The whole complex was always clean and tidy and we were able to leave our luggage in reception on the day we checked out as we didn’t leave until later. The apartments are really close to the centre, there is a hill but it wasn’t really a problem for us but it could be for people with mobility problems.

Had a wonderful stay in summer 2023 so much so we are going back for summer 2924 ,accommodation was spotless with everything you would need ,went for a superior room with sea views that did not disappoint. The town and beach is about 5 minutes away down hill .and the sunsets are superb.

We spent a few days here in a studio over new year. The space was amazing. Everything you needed in the kitchen. A large garden and patio. Comfy bed. Friendly receptionist. Lovely town. Some great bars and restaurants nearby. We'd love to come back but the studio is up for sale. Plenty of people were making return visits too which is a great sign. 5 stars!

The hotel had a beautiful view of the beach, which my family really enjoyed. The Mount Duarado organization team provided excellent support and we especially appreciated the pool facilities. The receptionist was exceptional and gave great recommendations for places to visit. While the hotel was overall very friendly, it could benefit from some indoor facilities to provide entertainment and alleviate any potential boredom.

Booked through ***********. We could not see the apartment in advance as we were told it would be allocated to us on arrival. This was a bit of a concern as previous reviews referred to varying standards of apartment. The apartment we got was very spacious and had everything we needed in it. We had a late arrival and departure and this all went smoothly. It was easy to find and the instructions were clear. Plenty of free parking. As other reviewers mentioned there are minimal basic supplies provided, a roll of toilet paper, tiny soap, 1 dishwasher tablet, one bottle of water which was welcome for the late arrival. We left a lot of the basics behind as I'm sure others do so I think they could leave those for visitors as a gesture and at zero cost to them. eg washing powder, salt etc. There are pools for each 'block' of the complex. The pools are clean and nice, not huge, one with a deep end and a shallow one for smallies. There were good sturdy and comfortable deckchairs provided and were never too busy when we were there. Good decent sized pool towels provided with our apartment.. Our apartment was a little dated and could do with a little facelift like myself but it was clean and comfortable and a good size. The single beds in the second room were deemed a bit uncomfortable by the kids but the double was fine The balcony furniture was not great being the white plastic type and the cushions very basic/plastic-y The location is great. Five mins walk into the town. 10 to the beach. The hills and steps all over the place make this unsuitable for those with mobility issues. The town is nice with the usual bars, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops. The beach is within walking distance of the apartments but there are nicer beaches close by. There are fabulous views from the hills on either side of the beach and a sunset walk on the boardwalk is a must do. The rooms were cleaned regularly during our stay which was great as we thought this was only to be done once in our 13 night stay. All in all a good location.
