Hotel Trieste

Marco and Chiara are exceptional hosts. The sweetest host couple of all Sicilia as far as I'm concerned. My stay at their hotel has been the BEST experience I've had in the travel accomodations I've had thus far as they only treated me with so much kindness and warmth from day 1. Prior to my arrival, I bungled up my bookings and inadvertedly gave a wrong arrival date (day prior to my actual arrival). Hence, their hotel was already full when I wanted to ammend the dates. Marco was very gracious enough to find me another hotel 20m from theirs for my extended dates! This made moving hotels a breeze for me apart from it being a very good recommendation as well, which merits another review! Hotel Trieste is in a very good location, easily accessible by foot to the different attractions of Catania. So much so that I could easily head back to rest and refresh myself and get on with my activities later on in the day/night. I looved my room that was actually very spacious for all my things with a couch and even a little balcony overlooking the streets. It had a mini-ref plus a full-sized mirror any girl will always appreciate! The hair/body/hand wash scents used in the bathroom smelled divine. Acoustics were very good because as the windows were closed, I couldn't hear the goings on outside and was left to completely relax and relish living in the essence of this historical building. The other thing I liked about the hotel is the little "terrace" upon entering the property. There was very nice music playing all the time. The breakfast area was very cozy and served both savory and sweet goodies and I always had my fill of capuchino to start the day. There is also a "self-service" laundromat just a few steps away (the owner, another warm and kind Catanian actually did the laundry for me and all I had to do was pick it up). Marco and Chiara were always very patient and readily available whenever I had queries of any kind!! So much kindness and detail has been put to make one's stay at the hotel, convenient, comfortable and very pleasurable. The staff as well were accomodating and efficient. As I extended my stay for yet another 2 days, I was also able to experience their other more recent Hotel Malía, a wee bit further from the city center yet closer to the train/bus station. Since Catania is easily walkable on foot, the location hardly mattered. Another excellent experience! The hotel is also in an old building yet the hotel is newly renovated. I had a bigger room, bigger balcony and the toilet and shower were in separate rooms (inside the room) with a full sized mirror needless to say! The highlight of the room though was the hydromassage in the shower..I could stay there forever after a long, tiring day! All the recommended restos were needless to say excellent as well. They also helped me find accomodation in Palermo as I had a hard time getting one as everything was fully booked in Sept.! Even to my last "breathe" in Catania, they also helped me book

The hotel is delightful. Our room was very spacious & comfortable. Double bed, sofa, small balcony & good size bathroom. Marco, the owner, & his team were very warm & welcoming. The hotel is located centrally to enjoy all the main tourist attractions in Catania. It is also only a 15 minute drive from the airport.

Stayed just one night, but. I should have stayed longer. The hotel is centrally located, short walk to all attractions, restaurants and bars. MARCO, the host, is very helpful and full of information about Catania that he gives freely. The nearby streets are lively and stay up long hours at night, but the rooms are well noice insulated, so you can sleep well. But the hotel's best quality is the friendly and helpful staff.

So we were let down by another operator last minute and are so thankful for finding this little gem. Right in the middle of town this small family hotel offers everything you’d need for a city break. The rooms are clean and all the decor has a nice vibe with a good blend of the traditional and modern. For me one of the most important things are the hosts and we were not disappointed with the friendly family atmosphere from the owners from the very start to the very end of our stay with with them. I loved the breakfast setting held in the reception which was relaxed and well catered, feeling like you’re in someone’s home. All the main sights are in walking distance and ask the hosts for any food recommendations as we did and eat at a great restaurant! We were a family of 4 with a double bed and a double sofa bed which was absolutely fine. The private, gated parking is perfect if you have a car and it felt very secure. Finally it’s also convenient if you want a one night stop over as we did to be near the airport for an early morning flight as the airport is only 10 mins away. I would definitely recommend this hotel you will not be disappointed.

We just returned to New Zealand from an amazing trip to Europe. At first we were concerned where the Hotel was BUT once we where in the Entrance to HOTEL TRIESTE it was a diffrent world. (we later discovered that there was a GREAT amount of work being done to restore the area [pavements and buildings]. From the moment we walked in untill 5 days later when we left ,we thorougly ENJOYED every minute of our stay. The owners were always helpful and vey friendly. Our stay was over a weekend,and the Saturday night the street thein front of the Hotel was very busy BUT once we closed our door we went to bed and fell asleep easily(minimum noise) WE WILL REURN TO SICILY IN THE SUMMER TO ENJOY THE BEACHES AND WILL FOR SURE STAY AT HOTEL TRIESTE. A+A+A+A+A+

The good news first, the owners are nice and the rooms are not very expensive. The Hotel is situated in the center of Catania, you could reach the major sights on foot indeed. BUT, the hotel is in a very noisy street in Catania, and there are few bars right downstairs. From the late evening, it becomes extremely loud and noisy and there is absolutely nothing you can do. We told the owner we would like to switch the rooms, but they only continue to tell you to close the door and turn on the air conditioning, which is not helping at all. The street noises are so loud (it was during the week, not even at weekend), that we could not sleep until late. If you have no other choices in town for one night, you can try to "handle" it. But you wont get good rest in this place. And at the end of the stay, the owner was also a little bit pushy about giving them good reviews on bookingcom and this platform.
