Beautiful rooms, delicious food.. breakfast and dinner in Conall Cearnach and Summit bar in golf club. Friendly staff.. wonderful Christmas break.

Excellent family rooms that still provided that element of luxury for Mum and Dad. Staff on the whole were very welcoming and helpful. Children were welcome in any of the restaurants and not made to feel otherwise. Food was very good and competitively priced. Pool is a good size and children loved. Gym has decent equipment for a work out. The only negative is the changing rooms need a bit of an overhaul and were cold. Setting is lovely and garden walk pretty - we played mini golf and ate food in the lobby/bar before leaving - food was enjoyed by all and again price was excellent for this lunch. only regret is we weren't staying longer. I hope the new owners of this hotel (as I believe its for sale) retain the staff and its many other positive offerings

Excellent room, fluffy pillows and duvet. Room and bathroom was spotless. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were A1 and restaurant staff were excellent. We had dinner in Summit. Food was great and likewise staff. No complaints! We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks a mil Marie and Rosie. Ann & Frank

The Slieve Russell is a terrific hotel whose staff make a big effort to make you feel welcome. The food is really good - and so is the beer! We spent a Sunday and Monday night there on their Sun-Thur special that includes a four-course dinner each evening, with a hearty breakfast each day. Theground-floor room (no. 646) was quiet and clean but not spotlessly so, as my female partner observed: a run aroud with a brush would have lifted a lot of dust from window ledges, etc. The only negative was that we were near melted with the heat during the night, even though the windows were opened as far as possible and it was cool outside. Had we slept better, in our large, comfortable bed, the review would have been five stars. All in all, though, this hotel is highly recommended.

Hotel was fine with good food. Bar music very loud. Bad time with EV car chargers. The two EV spaces were occupied by same 2 cars from Sun afternoon to Mon mid-morning. One was a diesel car not connected to the charger. Hotel advised of situation. 800 car spaces approx and only 2 chargers. Not an adequate provision. Chargers not actively managed by hotel to prevent experience we had. Plan on using other charger in town as we had to do. Nice town walk while you wait for car to charge.

Had a very enjoyable break at the Slieve Russell- service, facilities, dining and rooms could not be better- we dined in the golf clubhouse- we were so well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Food and service was excellent and both children and adults all enjoyed their food- well done all.

Booked this for a birthday and to take kids away. Room was a family suite and was lovely however not a great selection of children channels in the room. Pool was more suited for adults and not great for kids. Ate in the restaurant ordered the children's mash and gravy which came out with 2 small scoops to share between 2 kids so had to order more for them and charged for that too. Chips were inedible. Very little entertainment in the bar in evening. Place just seemed dead except for weddings and golfers. For a family hotel we were very disappointed and left early the next morning.

Just back from a 2 night stay. This stay exceeded our expectations hugely. 1st time back in 8 years. The hotel itself has received a fresh coat of paint and all the public areas are spotless. Our room was more than sufficient with a hood sized comfortable bed....pillows were too soft but got used to them. Bathroom well finished. Fresh towels daily. Dining both nights was excellent with a good choice to suit all on the menu. Well presented and prepared by the chefs. The bar area was excellent with live music both nights. Good choice of beers, spirits and cocktails. Have to say the staff were excellent. Plenty of staff members working at all times. All friendly and willing to assist. There is a spa area and pool which was fine. Golf available on a champion class course. Nice walks available around the hotel grounds. All toilets on site well kept and clean. Have a special mention for Mihael and his team. Will definitely return as it was beyond excellent.
