Bedford Arms Hotel

This was my first visit as an overnight guest for about 20 years although I’ve been a pretty frequent diner at the very characterful pub restaurant since the revamp. My aunt and I stayed for 2 nights on a great value deal which included a meal credit and breakfasts. We were really pleased with twin room 9 which is beautifully furnished and has a lovely view over the grounds. The bathroom/shower was fab. A few bits we didn’t like: The desk was way too cluttered with glasses, tea tray, coffeemaker, basket of stuff etc - absolutely no space left. The pillows are hard and there should be an alternative available. The menu needs some lighter dishes. It’s great for people visiting for a pub lunch but, if you’re staying 2 nights,, it’s short on healthy options or smaller appetites. Thanks for a nice stay.

Stayed for family celebration. Rooms beautiful. Super comfortable bed. Room was spotless. Breakfast was lovely. We stayed in main building. There was no noise from bar area. The en suite was really nice and the shower was really powerful. Staff were all nice and helpful but did seem to be under pressure at times. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing overnight stay which included an evening meal in a comfy room. The room had plenty of space and overlooked the garden with countryside views. Good location for local walks. Ample choice for breakfast including a variety of freshly cooked breakfasts.

We asked the Bedford Arms If we could hold a wake for our departed mother And wow what a wake they put on From the first guest arriving till the last one leaving The staff could not do enough for us. The food that they put on for us was magnificent We also stayed overnight and again the room we had was top quality, everything the Bedford Arms offered was of the highest quality Thank you to all the staff, who made a very sad day into a wonderful event that we will never forget Already looking forward to coming back next March with all the family And a special mention for a wonderful breakfast.The quality of the food and service was second to none 10/10

The room was in the main part of the building and was fabulous. Space good and overlooking the garden. Large bed and two easy chairs Fresh milk provided with tea and coffee facilities. (Pod coffee) Bathroom was well fitted out wand also had an auto light night. Towels were big. Honesty bar including snacks. Security from the pub was also good. The only reason given a 4 star is the lighting. This was poor. If you want to read take a torch! Meals taken were typical pub good food. Good car park.

Our whole experience was lovely. The bed was very, very comfortable with good quality linen. The room was spacious with two armchairs, a fridge, and a luxurious bathroom. There was fresh milk in the fridge and a coffee maker with coffee pods. We had a very good roast dinner and a great full English breakfast all the food was well prepared, presented and delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Mixed feelings. Refurbished to a very high standard since our last visit. Bedroom great and very well appointed. We were in main building but no noise from main pub area below. Seems more like a gastro/sports bar now having lost its intimacy as internal walls removed downstairs; very echoey and conversation from jovial groups intrusive. We asked to have our meal in main restaurant area. Meal was poor; would have sent back but tired. Mash potato was cold. Battered fish overcooked on outside. Poor selection of vegetables albeit they did swop cabbage for broccoli at my request. Mushy peas in a minuscule pot; hardly a portion. May stay again but try pub a short walk away for food. Electric charging points for cars; need you own cable and only slow charge.

We chose the Hotel for a birthday celebration and a halfway meeting point for family members. We were not disappointed. It is a charming place to stay in amongst lovely countryside. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be looking to stay again. We would highly recommend

We chose this hotel as a halfway spot between those of us staying for a birthday celebration and we weren’t disappointed. We arrived before check-in and enjoyed lunch outside watching the world go by. The fish finger sandwich is huge and was delicious! We had 2 rooms. One twin upstairs which was clean, spacious and comfortable overlooking the rear garden and one outside room which again was lovely and had a view of open fields. Our evening meal and breakfast were both tasty, homemade and very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, a great stay and we are already looking to book for the same time next year.
