The Barrel Store Cirencester

Very small rooms with small beds that are not great for a taller person. You don't get a kettle or TV. I guess the hook on the wall counts as clothes storage! Very very small bathroom more like a narrow broom cupboard. The bathroom is so small that you can't get your knees in position on the toilet as it's too tight against the wall. After showering you have to use the supplied rake to rake the water that spreads into the rest of the bathroom back towards the shower where there is a soak away that doesn't actually drain the water properly whilst you're showering. You do get supplied with clean towels and bedding and everything is mostly clean. I say mostly as visible dust on top of the doors, dirty marks on walls that could do with repainting. You wouldn't want to stay more than one night but personally I wouldn't stay again.

The place is great value for money. fantastic location, really clean rooms and bathrooms. Very well maintained. And has a common kitchen with basics and a microwave you can heat your food in. Would definitely recommend. The location is also perfectly in the middle of the town with all stores and restaurants just minutes away by walk.

Stayed in the family room with en suite which was very clean and comfortable. Staff very welcoming and helpful Ideal location nice and quiet. Use of a kitchen, fridge and microwave plus rest area. All in all a very comfortable stay. Definitely will book again if we need a one or two night's stay. The town of Cirencester itself is charming with some good restaurants

The hostel is in the middle of the old town centre, two minutes walk for the cathedral. Good selection of bakery, restaurants and pubs nearby. The rooms are pretty small but with all the facilities you need. Towels and bath poducts included.

Really enjoyed my 3 night stay. Single room was spacious and well equipped. Kitchen/Dining area was very good and it was nice to chat with other guests there. Reception person was helpful. The location was very central in Cirencester and quiet.

Unfortunately I was given Room 1. This room was unsatisfactory due to noise. I’ll never go there again. 1. Room 1 has a constant humming sound just outside of its door, I don’t know what machine it was from. Fortunately I came prepared with earplugs so I slept (but only for 4 hours). I slept so badly that I left after one night although I’d booked 2 nights. I couldn’t bear another night there. I got an early taxi and escaped to catch a train. 2. Room 1 is right by the entrance lobby. Slamming of fire doors was noisy. 3. Room 1 is apparently for disabled visitors. This would explain why the bathroom sink was about knee height. I’m not a wheelchair user so I don’t understand why I was given this room. 4. There was one hook on the wall but no coat hanger to hang my few clothes. Not even a chair or stool to place clothes on. I had to put my clothes on the floor. 5. I couldn’t make the shower run hot water so I couldn’t wash. It was a wet room so shower water went all over the bathroom floor. 6. I cannot fault the member of staff who was very helpful, polite and friendly. This room would suit disabled people who are also deaf and don’t mind sleeping in a single bed. Or a young person who can sleep through noise. Cannot recommend.
