The Clee Hotel - Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Lincolnshire

We stayed at this hotel with our two dogs for two nights in October 2024. Our welcome was fine but it was immediately apparent on going up to our room that the hotel was a bit tired and in need of refurbishment, threadbare carpets etc. The room was clean and tidy although some black mound on the bottom of the shower was not desirable. The sash windows were the only way of cooling the room after a sunny day, and would not stay open. The first night we were the only people staying there so it was nice and quiet. Continental breakfast was passable until we found mould on the bread for the toast. The woman in charge explained it had been frozen, not sure how the mould had got there then. We were out all day and on return at 8-30 on a Friday night were greeted with a bar full of people, and a live band. The noise from our room was unacceptable, form the group playing doors banging people shouting, and the smoking area was right outside our window. We have a recording of the noise if anyone wants to hear it, we could hear every word of every song they were playing. Even turning the television up loud did not drown out the noise. One of us went down to the bar to complain but it was packed and the barman appeared very busy, so in the end we rang our friends we had been to see that day, and they told us to go there, which we did, leaving the hotel at approx. 10-00, with the party in full swing and one of the guests telling us it would ‘go on all night’. The next da we rang the hotel to tell them we had left the night before, which they did not seem to be aware of. All he would say was if we had complained at the time they would have moved us to another room. So at 10-00 on a Friday night with a packed bar we would have had to move all out cases, one of us uses a breathing machine, and two fogs to another room, while a raucous party was taking pa]lace. If they were aware of a loud party taking place why did they put us in a room above the bar, and you would have heard the music anywhere in the hotel. They would not consider a refund, the man we spoke was not there on the night, and we had no apology. In conclusion to a long n winded review this is not a hotel we would ever consider visiting again.

What a gem. Conveniently located, beautiful hotel. Lovely Hosts. The rooms were well equipped with everything you could wish for, there was even a tassimo! The best breakfast ever!!! Eggs Benedict were delicious. Will definitely be back. 10/10

We went as a family and with our 2 pugs ollie and elsa.what a brilliant stay we had the dogs loved all the attention ❤️ we will definitely be returning..thanks guys especially to the bar staff......Will be telling friends to definitely vist .....

1 we were put in separate buildings. 2 rooms were freezing they never put the heating on. 3 the rooms were never cleaned and we were there 3 nights, coffee and tea not restocked. Taps loose, curtains fell down Damp patches,no cooked Breakfast

Rubbish, it's not a hotel, it's a dos house. The breakfast is rubbish, the breakfast area is a barrel, never again. The shower is for a garden gnome, we hated every minute of that place and would advise all to stay away, sleep in your car and go to the promenade for breakfast.

Amazing hotel! It was a busy weekend as it was grimsby and doncaster but the hotel was kind enough to put us in the quieter lodge next door. Cannot fault the service. We shall definitely be back - thank you for being the best hotel! It was ace xxxx
