I booked 3 nights in the Master Suite, a room we’ve stayed in several times before. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed me that the A/C in that suite wasn’t working and that we would be downgraded to another room. However, I happened to walk by the suite I had reserved and saw that it was already occupied by someone else. Clearly, the story about the A/C was a lie. When I confronted her, she changed her story and claimed the mattress was damaged. It wasn’t until I mentioned legal action that she sent me to the front desk to “resolve” the issue. We ended up staying in the downgraded room simply because we had a tight schedule and were already there. Unfortunately, every staff member we interacted with tried to cover for one another, each repeating different excuses. The owner was present and offered a complimentary dinner, but I didn’t want a free meal—I just wanted the suite I paid for. The downgraded room felt cheap and neglected. The shower doors were covered in old soap scum, and the room showed clear signs of wear and tear. After this experience, we’ll be looking for a new hotel in the area. It’s disappointing to see such poor service and dishonesty from a place we used to enjoy. A real shame.
