This place was amazing! Great service Great views The room was immaculate They have a shuttle that goes through the golf course to go down to the beach where they have a little restaurant and the steak tacos were amazing! They have bikes you can rent for free if you stay there. Which was awesome but was expecting some better quality bikes, my buddies bike was very janky. The gears didn’t really work so up hill was brutal. But they do have E bikes as well which we found out after haha Can’t wait to come back!

Me and my husband stayed here and had a wonderful stay for our baby moon getaway. Everything was great! Room service and pool service was excellent! Love the outside fireplace in our room! Everywhere had the most beautiful views! Highly recommend, we will be back!

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach is a beautiful resort, right by the ocean. It has beautiful spacious rooms, great views, golf courts and a private beach. There are several restaurants, a spa, and nice pools. The staff is very attentive and It’s definitely a great spot for a relaxing getaway.

We recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach in Dana Point for two nights over Memorial Day weekend, and it was an amazing experience. Thanks to our Hilton Diamond status, we were upgraded to a fireside terrace resort view room, which was a delightful surprise. The room was beautiful, with a cozy fireplace and a lovely terrace offering great views of the resort. It was the perfect place to relax after exploring the area. A big thank you to Kinza K from guest relations and Erik at the front desk. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. Kinza took care of all our needs, and Erik’s warm welcome made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the resort's amenities, like the pools and the spa, and the food was fantastic. Each meal was delicious and offered a variety of options. We had such a great time and made wonderful memories. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy it all over again!

This property is beautiful with well manicured gardens (although they do have artificial grass in some parts which is quite a shame). Highlights: -Food was good in all restaurants but the steak at Bourbon was the star of the show -One of the best gyms I have been to in a hotel -Renovated and very clean room -Service was overall good -Tram service to the beach was very frequent Flaws: -No adults only pool. Both pools are an absolute chaos which kids and parents shouting and playing ball so if you want to relax by the pool, this is not the hotel for you -Lack of adults only spaces overall. With a property this size, adults without kids should have at least a couple of options -Valet parking is 70 dollars a night for guests which I find quite excessive -It gets extremely busy on weekends

What a great place to stay. The room was very nice. Upon arrival the service level was 100% also the frontoffice employees where very friendly and as a hilton honors gold member we did receive a complementary upgrade to a higher room type. Also a daily f&b credit of $25 pp per day. Very nice. The resort have great options for hiking and walking arround the property. Also the shuttle tram to the beach was a great perk. Loved the turndown service. Only point of critique is that the servers in the lobby bar where not very friendly. We found on the daily calendar that there is a complementary sunset drink at the terrace, the lady seemed very annoyed when we asked how this worked, i did not feel comfortable after i asked, the lady treated us after this as the cheap folks visiting the WA. This was a bummer on a very nice stay.

Beautiful property, very friendly staff, great location, and fun atmosphere. It was a quick one day staycation and we had fun. Unfortunately the room we got upgraded to 1st floor garden view with firepit smelled. It almost appeared as if the room was cleaned quickly and they missed a few details. The chair at the desk had a red stain on it that we had to wipe off. HSKP tried to get rid of the smell with no luck. I asked valet several times to make sure my car is plugged in and charging. They told me it was even when I showed them that the app said it was not charging they assured me it is and that it is located in a lower level and the car had no signal to update the app. At check out I noticed the car had not been charged at all.

The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable with a lot of attention to detail. The bathrooms were spacious and nice, and I really liked the shampoo and conditioner, The service was mostly good, though when we arrived there was no one at the front desk for at least 5 minutes, and another quest was already waiting. Housekeeping was thorough and responsive. As others have mentioned, the food is very expensive, as is any other service offered, so be prepared to pay a lot. The part and parcel cafe was the best place to get coffee, and the sandwiches were not bad. I loved all of the trails walking down to the beach and around Dana point. The whole area is very nice and well maintained. It is quite a way to the beach from the hotel, so that is not very convenient. The pool was nice, but it was too cold when we were there to really enjoy, so we only used the hot tubs.

We had overall a nice time at this property, but I had a bad experience at the end. The property itself is beautiful and in a lovely location.Our toddlers loved riding the beach tram. Food was pretty good although pricey which is to be expected for a WA. The staff was very friendly and upgraded us to a fireplace terrace room as Diamond members which was very nice. However, upon checking out, they charged me for the final night’s parking twice (at $70/night). They said because I used a Hilton free night certificate I couldn’t consolidate that night’s reservation with the rest of my stay, which is fine. On our last day we ate at one of the restaurants and charged to the room so there was about $114 charged to my room that last night including the $70 parking fee. The morning I checked out they charged another $70 which would be a duplicate parking charge. When I returned home, I called their guest services desk and mentioned the extra charge asking them to reverse it. They said the extra charge would drop off within 10 business days of checking out. Two weeks after I had checked out I called back twice to follow up, leaving a voice message about my case and no one contacted me. I was forced to dispute the charge on my credit card to get the $70 back. I did not expect this lack of service from a WA and I would expect a much higher level of customer care from this brand. It was a disappointing way to end the trip and now I am leery about staying at another WA.
