Mike's Dauin Dive Resort

Amazing stay at this place!! The staff is amazing, they went out of their way to make us feel at home (cheers to Chester and Nathan ❤️ and all the staff and dive crew) We did our PADI Openwater, it was a very good price, excellent equipment and instructor (thank you Daniel!) A real great experience. We must say that the best part of all was Lilo and Puka, the resorts dogs, they were lovely and cute. ¡¡Highly recommended!!

For many years now we like to make divetrips . We have been at so many lovely places, some are better then others. We also have done a lot of divetrips in the Philipines ...but never before we liked the stay so much then @mikes . What can we tell about it? For starters ..the resort ...the location is perfect at the lovely beach, the rooms have everything you need and here it comes...the most important ..you realy feel like coming home ! This is not such a big "factory"-like mega resort with many rooms..no, just a cosy place to stay. Why did we feel so at home..because of the staff ..they all were so friendly, allways with a big smile and they are always ready to help you. we had a lot of fun with them ...they became friends! Then ...the diving ..what can i say about it? This is diving heaven! This is so relaxt diving..the crew and divemasters do everything for you..the only thing you have to do is ..diving ..everything else is taken care of by the crew. And...APO island is realy very very beautiful ..the reefs are so amazing ..we thought that nothing can come close to diving in Raja Ampat ..but we were wrong ..apo island is just as beautiful. Like the terminator said ..I'll be back " Greetings from Belgium

We visited Dauin for 5 days, staying and diving at Mike’s Beach Resort. We had a great stay. We had the opportunity to dive mostly with Ace and Gabby, who are outstanding guides. The gear was in very good condition and seemed well maintained. The diving is a mixture of mud diving, close to the resort, and the coral reefs around Apo island. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the restaurant serves a variety of Filipino and international specialties with good quality and reasonable prices, and all the staff are friendly and ready to help. Chester runs the centre with the highest standards. Dauin is a mud diving paradise, Apo island is a must-see diving site and, in our opinion, Mike’s Beach Resort is the place to stay.

We spent nine incredible days at Mike's and I would recommend them highly. We had fantastic dives with Ace, who was calm, happy and helped us check every critter off our Dauin wish list (except the Mimic octopus still evades us) . He accommodated our group as my Mom was a very new diver. Thank you to Ace and the entire boat crew and dive masters, they were efficient, professional and just a ton of fun. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. Chester was always very present and was always looking to help. Much appreciated! The food is great, and the serving staff are so kind and helpful. We especially appreciated Nathan. It was a lovely place to dive and stay. Thanks for making our whole family feel very welcomed! Best of luck in 2024!

I planned to stay at Mike’s for three days before traveling to Moalboal, but my experience on the first day was so overwhelmingly good that I canceled my other plans and extended my stay. Resort: One of the best dive resorts I’ve been to. The rooms are well equipped, with a good air conditioner, plenty of charging ports, a writing desk, a cupboard and a clean bathroom. The pool is very clean and well maintained. The restaurant, right next to the pool, is beautifully situated right next to the pool and has a view of the ocean. I requested massages on two days and they were very accommodating and reasonable (~13USD for an hour long massage). They also rented out bikes at a very reasonable rate (~9USD per day). People: The resort manager, Chester, is very amiable, helpful, and knowledgeable. He gave me several helpful tips for when I visited Dumaguete as well as when I went back to Manila. The restaurant staff were also very friendly. Diving: The diving is Dauin is one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The dive masters are not only phenomenal at spotting wildlife, but also very cognizant about not antagonizing animals just for pictures. The macro life is visually stunning and varied.

Great value, rooms have all you need - storage, air con, good bathroom and semi private outdoor sitting area. Food was awesome - mix of Philippino, Mexican & International - my favourites were seafood burrito, quesadillas, onion rings & the pizza is great. There’s a nightly special which I had several times. In addition to beer, you can choose a cocktail or wine - all reasonably priced. There’s a freshwater pool (bigger than it looks) and the property is right on the beach - though some days can be quite rough. I went diving every day - the guides are brilliant, particularly Gabby (amazing) - the dive sites in Dauin are mostly muck, but some sites feature coral as well; there are regular trips to Apo Island which has excellent traditional reef diving, though it’s at least a 40 min boat ride. Non divers would be accommodated by a coral reef just 10 min down the beach suitable for snorkelling; also the hotel can organise trips to local sights. Will def visit again

What a lovely resort - Chester and his team are so friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous spacious room with private balcony overlooking the pool and beach. We went to sleep listening to the sea, so relaxing. The diving was great, our DM Gabby so friendly and found us lots of critters including unusual pipe fish and a blue ringed octopus, a first for us. Good local dives and on Apo Island Food was very good with a good choice on the menu and there are also bars and restaurants within walking distance if you want a change of scene. There are waterfalls, lakes and hiking in the nearby mountains to do as a change form diving although the diving is so good you'll probably not want to miss it! Would definitely recommend, we stayed 12 nights but could have stayed longer...

People are very welcoming and accommodating. Chester, the resort manager made sure that we are ok throughout our stay and never missed a request of ours. Resort is under rated especially with the service that they give. DMs are superb- Ace and Gabby 🥰👏We will definitely come back here. Thank you for the mind blowing experience we had at your resort. My partner and I had a lovely stay at Mike’s! The property is very relaxing with clean and spacious rooms. Chester, the manager, was super helpful from booking all the way through check out and just an overall kind presence throughout our stay. The dive operation is very well organized with the dive team handling everything for you - all you need to do is gear up and jump in! Shoutout to the DMs (Ace, Gabby, Alaric) for spotting everything on our list (octopus, seahorse, frogfish etc). We hope to stay here again in the future!! 😊
