The Clarendon Hotel

My experience at the Clarendon was great from start to finish. The lady on reception could not have been more warm, friendly and helpful. She even left me cutlery and a plate in my room as I had mentioned I might get a takeaway. My room was large with a very large bed and had all the amenities I could need. This included a fridge with complimentary bottled water, nespresso coffee, toiletries, air conditioning/heating, black out curtains and loads of storage. I was fortunate enough to get a sea view room and listening to the sound of the waves in the morning was lovely! The room was clean with a choice of pillows which I was thought was a nice touch. The hotel is ideally located with plenty of eating places, shops etc nearby. A couple of things to note; there is no hotel parking, however this is available in a pay and display car park behind the hotel for £1.80 an hour up until 6pm and then free overnight. Sea view rooms do face the road and so some noise from cars/passers by. This didn't bother me but may be useful for others to know who like complete quiet. I cant recommend this hotel enough for a lovely stay, in a wonderful location and great hosts.

Location is 5 star BUT.... There is a steep staircase to rooms, even to Rooms 1,2,3 and no lift. This needs to be made clear at booking for anyone unable to get up stairs and no one to help with bags if needed. View is also 5 Star, right opposite pier. Room spacious and couple steps up to bathroom. Shower fabulous. It's not 5 star for many reasons but nice touches, like bottles of water in fridge and Nespresso machine for decent coffee. There was no one on reception on arrival late afternoon and it seemed strange to arrive with a code to get in. Receptionist as we left who was friendly and helpful but still think it's better to have someone to greet customers. Who do you call if necessary? No idea. My room had large window floor to ceiling. Could have done with non see through curtain!! All in all location and room very good.

Great location, very central, nice bathroom and comfy bed. Lovely to have a fridge in the room and air conditioning/heating to make it comfortable. Despite being on the main road it was very quiet with the double-glazing. On the downside, the room was very worn in areas, the windows very dirty and in need of a good clean and some damp on the walls by the windows. The TV would not stay on for long as it kept losing signal. Overall a great and comfortable location for one night in a basic hotel.

We visit Deal regularly and have stayed at different hotels, AirB&B’s etc and recently decided to try the Clarendon Hotel and to our delight we loved it, so much so we’ve booked it again for this month. We’ve now put it top of our list as our favourite for Deal. We contacted reception a couple of time with queries and they couldn’t have been more welcoming, friendly and professional - a very special mention to Orla who was just fantastic to us. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean and the bed very comfy, it was great to have a fridge stocked with water. Check in and out was very easy and so convenient. Great location right opposite the pier, plenty of car parks nearby. Very helpful friendly reception staff. Room no15 was excellent, bed superbly comfortable, lots of thoughtful touches in the room including binoculars for distant sea views and welly boots in case of rain...lost of bottled water and milk in the fridge as well. Immaculately clean. I hope to return...

The Goodwin suite is spacious and was very clean. Great sea view with with modern shower and separate bath in bedroom. Great value. Complementary bottled water and milk sachets orovided in fridge. Will be back.

Great location with easy paid cheap parking. Be aware of self check in so check your emails and messages. A lot of stairs to my room but cannot fault at all, big room with a Sea view in a great little town that’s very clean with plenty of pubs. Highly recommend

We booked B&B but found out at the last minute they don’t do any food. Claimed paid for parking but we were the payers showed picture of bar on website there isn’t one. Jade the receptionist was lovely and very helpful the room was air conditioned and very clean. But everything- furniture, decorations looked very tired hallways and passages showing scuff marks aplenty. A good stay but I’d find it difficult to recommend

I had three nights here. I had an attic room so lots of very narrow stairs, even a step into the bathroom. The room was big and quiet with a lovely bay seat and fantastic view with air conditioning. I wish the owner/manager would sleep in each room to know what is needed. There were cobwebs in the bedside lights, the bracket that holds the shower hose moves and is too low. There needs to be another higher. And the major issue I had was the dirty marks on the sloped roof above the bed where other guests heads had clearly been. I showed Orla in the office thinking she’d have someone up straight away to clean it but no. I hope it gets done before the next guest.
