The Fanny Talbot

Location was great as was the welcome. Room clean as was kitchen and bathroom area. Plenty of tea and coffee available. Nice size fridge and enough crockery and cutlery for 2 people. Parking available for guests. All you do is pull up at the barrier, call the pub and they lift the barrier to let you in. Great system. Cannot fault the place - we will be back! Didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment on food. Air Conditioning was a great asset during our stay with 30degree heat however, it failed on the 2nd night and dripped water onto the carpet (and possibly into the room below us). Management were swift to bring up a bucket and towels but the constant drip while the unit was being used kept us awake which meant we had to turn it off for the night. Hopefully it was fixed before the next guests arrived.

We've just come back from a 2 night stay at The Fanny Talbot - we haven't been to Barmouth before and we had a excellent time. The room (room 6) was lovely, really spacious with king-size bed, table and chairs, kitchen fully equipped and a good bathroom (shower was really good). We didn't have a balcony but could see the sea. The room had A/C and tea/coffee etc with more you could collect on the stairs. We only had breakfast, which was amazing, never had croissants like that before and I think we missed a trick not eating in the evening here - but a reason to come back! Staff were really helpful and friendly, car park just 1 minute walk away, location was ideal, would definitely recommend and return.

Great hotel, very spacious rooms with the added benefit of a kitchen area if you need it. We stopped in room 4 on the second floor room was very clean. The hotel has an offsite car which is only a very short walk. We had the breakfast and would highly recommend it. We eat dinner here also which was amazing. Highly recommend and great value for money.

Excellent, high standard hotel with self catering facilities, in a great location, free all day parking which is a bonus during the summer season, definitely a location we would come back too…. We never dined but others recommended the standard…Recommended without hesitation

Our family took my husband for a lovely dinner for his birthday at The Fanny Talbot. Our experience far exceeded my expectations, primarily because of the time and attention that the staff took with us. First of all, we were delighted to find a personalised birthday card from the staff to my husband waiting for us on the table. We also received complementary drinks and canapés. The food was absolutely scrumptious and very well and artfully presented. We were also excited about the wine list, which was more extensive than we expected. The staff were so attentive and kind. We really enjoyed our visit and will certainly be going back very soon very highly recommend!

Great stay in 1st floor super king. Very comfy bed and pillows. Kitchenette adequate for making breakfast and a light lunch. In the middle of Barmouth so close to everything. A walk across the bridge is a must. We also took a trip to Portmerion village which was spectacular. Food at Fanny Talbot was amazing. We had Sunday Roast and the tasting menu. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and food delicious, you won’t be disappointed. If I had one criticism it is charging residents £5 per day for parking in the private car park, especially as we struggled to park the first day. It wouldn’t stop me returning though.
