Great rooms, very clean & fresh, well appointed and lovely personal touches. Very helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely gardens, lots of parking. great location in town. Thanks Dennis (mgr) for looking after us. Meals at attached Maraboon Tavern were also fantastic.

My wife and I stayed here for one night on our way through to Longreach. Basic amenities and dark accommodation. No mugs or cups, just disposable drink containers and no such luxury as bowls in the unit. Comfortable chairs, a good bed and nice shower.

Paid $150 dollars for one room for one night, bugger me no glassware or metal culery, my wife loves a glass of bubbles not very tasty out of a plastic cup, for the money you would think they could supply a glass, not very impressed

The hotel is located in heart of emerald. The room was spacious with good facilities and superior extras. Big tv, microwave, bedside lights and on site laundry. The tavern is adjacent for meals and drinks. Good value for the extras.

Recent 1 night stay. The room was quite small & had been “fogged” which left an unpleasant smell. Very large cumbersome office chair which took up a lot of space. Lovely onsite restaurant offering high quality meals & good service. Had to ask for water though.

I stayed here for one night for business and was very impressed. After a long drive , sinking into the black leather armchair with stool was pure bliss. The room was neat, tidy, clean and equipped with a lovely large flat screen TV and all the basic necessities you’d expect. Customer service from Denise at reception was fantastic, considering the phone was constantly ringing as I checked in. Denise was very helpful and friendly. The location is ideal, with the Tavern and Capricornian Restsurant right next door. Speaking of the Capricornian Restaurant - the food and service was outstanding. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend this Motel.

From the minute we checked in we felt like we were being treated like family- they were nothing short of amazing. The room was great, location perfect walking distance to what we needed but the staff were just amazing thank you for looking after us.

The Staff are so friendly and accomodating . Leanne was so amazing with our booking , friendly, professional and flexible , nothing was a problem and all done with a warm smile . A Great location , right next to a tavern with a great restaurant and staff . A great experience and such a friendly community.

Mostly positive stay experience, but surprised to find they had disposable paper cups for tea and coffee instead of the usual china mugs or cups provided by other motels. The manager's response: "Yes, we do have disposable cups etc .but if you had of enquired, we could have supplied China from one of the 2 restaurants Partners attached The legislation clearly states the states the temperature that dishes are to be washed .we do not own a commercial dishwasher as we are a standalone. Motel without a commercial kitchen it. Hence, we supply disposable cups which then complies with the legislation." If this response is correct, a great many Queensland motels seem to be in breach of the legislation.

Room was clean and comfortable. Comfortable bed and pillows. Plenty of space. Good parking. Friendly staff. Loved the location between the Tavern with great food and the Restaurant. Provided kettle and toaster but no crockery. Disappointed that only disposable cups were provided for both hot and cold drinks.

We stayed in an interconnecting family room. The first room we were provided had a terrible smell coming from one bedroom - smelt like a dead animal in the aircon. The lady from the office was working solo but was amazing - they were fully booked however due to the length of our stay she was able to shuffle a few rooms around and get us moved. She was running back and forward from the reception to the room trying to fix the smell for the next guest. She went above and beyond that's for sure. Apart from that the rooms were lovely. The grounds were well kept. The pool was a bit shaded and needs a few chairs. The proximity to the pub and a few takeaway places was great. It was such a quiet place to stay. Loved it.

Every single thing about this visit was first class. From the location the comfort the FABULOUS restaurant. Totally recommend the restaurant. We had the lambs rump. Magical presentation and sooo tasty. Great staff. We were able to walk everywhere. A Tavern was close by to get some drinks, all well priced.

This accommodation looks very good from the outside. however, on arrival we were greeted by a group of drunken ex-service types who partied on and on. There were two other parties going on into the evening. So, little sleep. The manger did not appear concerned and had clearly not informed those other parties of the need to consider the needs of other motel patrons.

During October 2022, my wife and I enjoyed a one week bus tour with Outback Aussie Tours incorporating three nights in Longreach and 2 nights in Winton, travelling by air to Emerald from Brisbane, then travelling on the Spirit of the Outback train to Longreach and returning to Brisbane from Longreach on the Spirit of the Outback. The tour included an overnight stay in Emerald before heading out to Longreach by train and the accommodation chosen for us was the Emerald Maraboon Motel. As motels go, this one was very impressive. It is in a good location in Emerald and within walking distance to the elegant, historical Railway Station and town centre (20 minutes) and the Big Easel (the world's biggest Van Gogh sunflower painting) situated in Morton Park (15 minutes). Right next door is the Maraboon Tavern ( there is a dedicated path from the Motel complex) and there is a McDonalds Restaurant 3 minutes walk away and a Woolworths 5 minutes walk away. The first impression one gets of the motel complex is the fabulous landscaped gardens, which are well maintained with lovely green foliage bordering very wide roadways for motor vehicles to get to and from the unit parking areas. There is a swimming pool on site and the various accommodation units are in buildings well spaced out. The Motor Inn utilises the next door Capricorn Restaurant where guests are provided breakfast. The Restaurant also offers guests a more than satisfactory dinner experience. We found the unit we were given to be very clean and tidy and it boasted a very comfortable bed, lots of bench space, a microwave and tea making facilities and a more than comfortable office style side chair with a padded foot stool. Our bathroom was adequate for our needs and included a shower unit. A minor criticism however was the lack of a toilet brush in the bathroom – an essential commodity for every accommodation house in my view. China cups, plates, proper glasses and silver spoons were dispensed with in favour of throw away alternatives such as paper plates and wooden spoons – which saves washing up for the staff. A comment on the Capricorn Restaurant – we had a sensational, very memorable dinner experience which lived up to its huge reputation and I will review separately. However, the breakfast in the morning here, while well cooked, took an eternity to prepare, due to insufficient morning staff on hand. In lieu of a buffet style where we could chose our own breakfast needs, we had to order from a set breakfast menu. For our bed and breakfast package we could order one hot meal or one continental item and one beverage. I ordered the big breakfast and a mixed berry smoothie. We waited 40 minutes from the time we ordered to when we received our meal. The delay had no consequences for us and we took it in our stride; however there were others who were anxiously looking at their watches as they had morning commitments to meet and they let the staff know this.
