Hotel Sao Mamede

Hotel is surrounded ( on three sides ) by derelict buildings, the outside of the hotel itself could pass for one also). The noise from the train and the busy road is continuous so don't expect a night's sleep. The rooms are basic, but adequate (a 2 star hotel) but there is a continuous smell from the drains in the bathroom. The housekeeping staff are excellent - one of the very few saving graces of this hotel - they work very hard and keep the hotel clean. Breakfast is okay, very little variety but adequate for a 2 star hotel. Don't stay here, pay that little bit extra for somewhere that will give you a holiday feeling.

Rooms are very small, but clean. Location is ok, breakfast is very limited and the price is outrageous for the comfort. Beds are terrible. The manager is incompetent. They gave us a broken bed for two nights, so we had no sleep. When we wanted to solve this, the manager started yelling at us that we caused this ourselves. Had a very bad week because of this, there is no talking to her. She called us liars and yelled that we wanted a free vacation. Now she'll say she wasn't yelling and we were out for money, which isn't the case. We then had bizarre mail contact, where she offered us two nights in her hotel. We will never come back here anyway and advise everyone not to spend the night here.

Lovely Property, should have been 3 star not 2 Star, great location, nice staff, close to the Beach, had a warm welcome on arrival, H/K and F & B Staff was excellent, strongly recommend this property.

Estoril is a tourist town. We were in Portugal 16 days and only in Estoril did we experience the "tourist tax". Be careful here. As for the hotel, it is drab. The entrance pretty much says it all. The room was basic but the shower pressure was amazing for the 4th floor. The wifi was VERY spotty and frustrating. If you rely on wifi while traveling I would seriously consider staying elsewhere. The breakfast is basic but about what to expect for this level of hotel. The location is fabulous if you want to spend time at the beach and it is a very short walk from the train to the entrance of the hotel. Some of the staff were quite friendly while others indifferent. The view of the water (and the train station) from the 4th floor was good.

900€ de domingo a viernes, por algo que no vale ni 400€. Fuimos 5 días, 2 adultos y 2 niños. Lo único bueno la ubicación. Hotel viejo, la puerta del baño no cierra, habitación diminuta, se oye pasar el tren cada media hora, Las única luces que tiene la habitación son la del baño y la de la mesilla, las toallas de ducha son pequeñas y con más años casi que el hotel, desayuno pobre... y seguro que se me olvidan más cosas.

Chegamos no horario previsto para o nosso cheking, a atendente foi fantastica, ainda descobrimos que ela era brasileira, mas ja estava morando ha mtos anos em Portugal nem percebemos. Conseguimos fazer um upgrade de ultimo instante pois o hotel estava passando por uma reforma. Só não dei avaliação 5 pois infelizmente eu sou mto alergica e isso me deixou um pouco incomodada. O pequeno almoço, o atendimento, a localização a vista do nosso quarto, tudo maravilhos. Fomos em fevereiro desse ano, eu deveria ter colocado antes a avaliação. Mas nunca é tarde! So tenho que agradecer a todos pela receptividade, simpatia e comodidade.
