Riad le Calife

Being at this riad was a magical and otherworldly experience - in the best way possible. Honestly, the only place you should stay in Fes! The attention to detail given to the riad by Yasmine, Alex and the Calife team is made evident in its spectacular ambiance, meticulous cleanliness, delicious savoury and sweet eats, and carefully curated list of knowledgeable tour guides and restaurant referrals. In my opinion, the riad itself captures the essence of Fes. The entire team at Calife was phenomenal (incredibly hospitable, helpful, kind, caring, and genuine). My husband got ill during our travels and everyone looked after us as if we were family. Calife team we can’t thank you enough!

What a great place and lovely hosts. We felt at home. Yasmine, Alex and their team are wonderfull. Rooms are very comfortable and there is always a place where to rest like terraces. All is perfect. They can organize a visit of the medina with a guide, find a restaurant with someone to escort you to not get lost in the medina, both ways. We highly recommand this place. They also take care of helping you parking you car. High level of service and we were sad to leave them the last day. They really deserve the title of best place to stay at Fes. Salem

I'm just back home after spending a month traveling across Morocco and, without a doubt, my most memorable stay, in terms of accommodation, service and emotional comfort, was at Riad Le Calife. What Yasmine and Alex have created is more than a beautiful environment - it's an experience. And when they say "this is your home', they mean it and back it up. The spaces area all beautiful and the sound of birds chirping never stops, My dinners at the riad were my best meals in Fes and I can't offer enough superlatives about the willingness of the staff to greet every request with a desire exceed expectations. Yasmine and Alex were so generous in sharing their understanding and knowledge of Fes and helped with restaurant recommendations, cultural tips and also arranged some great tours for me, both in and outside of the city. I'm so grateful that I found this wonderful place and these fine people because my time in Fes would not have been the same anyplace else.

Beautiful property within walking distance from the old town. Service was outstanding and truly genuine. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely four night stay at Riad Le Calife last week. The Riad is well located up a quiet side street in the Medina and is a welcome oasis of calm after spending the day in the hubbub of the souks. The Riad has lots of great places to relax, including a peaceful courtyard with tropical plants and trees, elegant sitting rooms that take you back several decades and a lovely roof terrace with views across the Medina. However, the best thing about the Riad was the people. Alex and Yasmin have a huge passion for their guests and made sure that they helped us work out a plan each day and that we had whatever information and advice we needed. They were supported by a small team of lovely people who were all excellent at looking after us and making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, the Riad Le Calife was a great place to stay.

I'm sorry for the remaining riads we will be staying in throughout our travels in Morocco because Riad Le Calif has set a very high bar. We stayed 5 nights and there is simply no constructive feedback to give! Our room ( Diamond Suite) is incredible, the bed is comfy and the room is made up impeccably daily. We spent every evening enjoying wine in the terrace during sunset, and Fatima cooked us a delicious traditional meal. The entire staff at the Riad is eager to help and so very welcoming. Yasmine and Alex have been such a pleasure with making suggestions and arrangements for us daily, and they truly care about making your stay safe and memorable. I also want to commend them on their Medina guide Rasheed, who was professional and extremely knowledgeable. Initially we were hesitant to use a guide but Rasheed made sure we explored every nook of the Medina and educated us on every historical site. This has been the stay of a lifetime - thank you Yasmine and Alex!!

Beautiful property and rooms, great location, run by some of the most accommodating and helpful owners and staff I’ve ever met. We spent 3 nights at this Riad and they arranged everything for us - tours, dinner reservations, on site meals, transportation, etc.

We are finishing our 3-night stay at Riad Le Calife, and couldn't be happier with our experience. - The highlight is Alex & Yasmine's hospitality - they truly have made us feel at home and welcome here. The medina can be hectic and chaotic - the riad feels like a peaceful home to return to at the end of each day of exploring. Their staff is also wonderful - Mohamed met us to help us with our luggage, would walk us to get taxis out, and always greeted us with a smile. - They have a beautiful rooftop terrace with sprawling views of the medina - best at sunset! It's so peaceful - come out here and sip on mint and verbena tea. - We stayed in the Amethyst room and it was spacious. Bed was very comfortable (firm!), and they stocked the room with fruit & homemade cookies daily. You won't regret coming to stay here - I'd recommend to any family or friends coming to Fes!

Staying here was one of the best decisions I made when planning my Moroccan holiday. The riad itself is beautifully restored, full of charm and character. One feels like one is stepping into Morocco of the 1920s and 30s. The bedrooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. I slept so well. Alex and Yasmine made certain I was comfortable before I even arrived. They arranged for a private Medina tour (a must for first-time visitors to Fes), had a member of their team meet me at the gate nearest to the riad to help with directions and luggage, and were always pleased to answer any questions I had...even the last-minutes ones late at night. Their entire staff was kind and responsive. Fes is an exciting place. But it was so nice to come 'home' to a cozy, peaceful place at the end of a long day of sight-seeing to sip a gin & tonic in the courtyard (and the occasional aperitif in the bar/salon after dinner). ;-) The riad is in the Medina and away from the tourist-heavy 'high and low slopes.' But is easily accessible to a gate near a popular square with plenty of taxis for a quick ride to the Blue Gate for late evening dinners. Alex and Yasmine will even arrange for someone to meet you to walk you to the restaurant, if needed. Wonderful 4-night stay. Highly recommended.
