I wanted to give the Tenaya Lodge 5 stars but had a few things that are holding me back. The lodge itself is beautiful and had a bunch of fireplaces & firepits to huddle around, which my wife loved. The Jackalope Bar and Grill was really good; we ate dinner there and breakfast the next morning. We reserved a spa room specifically for a Jacuzzi tub and a balcony looking out into the woods for my wife to sip coffee and look out. The Jacuzzi tub was broken and wouldn't drain. The balcony decking and railing was rather unstable. My wife wouldn't even step out on it. Lastly the shower had wads of female hair stuck to the shower walls from the previous guest. It really is a lovely place and the staff at the front desk and grill were great. We just weren't happy with our stay because of the tub & balcony that we couldn't use.

We love the hotel, it provided a lot of free activities to family, eg rock climbing, bike hire, guided nature walk, movie in the swimming pool etc. The gym and wellness centre are big with sauna and steam room. The hotel is an hour away from Yosemite village, but 20 ministers drive to Oakhurst with lots of good food options.

We loved its location just outside of Yosemite. We also enjoyed the free bicycle usage to explore nearby gravel roads through the forest. Drawbacks were that the food options were rather bland and the outdoor pool is rather small so no lap swimming. Also, the staff just didn't smile much giving a rather ho hum vibe.

The service could definitely use some training. From the start, the front desk was not pleasant but just did her job. The main issue was the manager in the bar area. After a shift change and after them cashing us out of our $1100 bill, they removed our big party stating that we didn’t have a reservation for the dinner service even though we continued to purchase items. She made no sense on why we had to move and was rather aggressive on asserting herself. Disappointing situation considering we had a block of 10 rooms and a large reception the next day.

As a consultant, I’ve been to my fair share of hotels. I was so incredibly impressed with Tenaya. You can tell this place takes great care of their employees and guests. They are so generous with time, resources, and snacks! (Free s’mores every night… yes please.) thanks for a wonderful stay!

Everything about the stay was 5 star. Staff was outstanding. Accommodations and amenities made the trip fun for everyone regardless of age. Would definitely return

The room was available upon arrival which was before 2 PM. Front desk was attentive to answering all questions. The room was clean and at the end of a hall which was quiet during our stay.

The Tenaya lodge was a great place, especially the location to Yosemite park!  The group tour of the park was fabulous and we loved Juli.  We stayed in the cottages and we loved the feel because it was away from the main lodge.  The food at the lodge was not the best.  We ended up bringing in our own food.  Overall though great experience and we loved Yosemite!

We keep coming back to Tenaya Lodge every year. It's such an amazing resort with so many different amenities for every age and taste. Their food is delicious and activities are fun. Rooms are clean and you can feel nature at every corner.

The trip was great and the hotel was beautiful in a great location. We stayed in the cottage area and it was very nice and had clean. We did get confused about the available amenities and had issues with communication over the phone (transfered multiple times to get an answer about early check in).

A wonderful stay with many amenities you can look forward to, we enjoyed the jacuzzi hot tub as it was really cold outside (we’re really up high!). The heater in the room is good too, and we had everything we needed!

We stayed here because of its proximity to Yosemite. It was nice being 5-7 mins from the entrance to the park. We stayed in a cottage next to the pizzeria. Had more than a few spiders in our cottage which sort of freaked out the kids but I dispatched of them all as discreetly as possible and never saw any more. The room itself was not anything to write home about, but I can appreciate a nice bed and nice pillows. Ours had a high ceiling which I liked. There was a gas fireplace which would provide plenty of heat if we had needed any. Some of the property was under construction so we did not have access to all the amenities but the pool area was very nice with a full bar next to it. The restaurant was good, and they had a game room (not an arcade) that is more than sufficient to entertain your kids for a at least 15 mins. They have a lot to do there, like archery lessons, but we simply didn’t have the time. If you are planning a vacation to Yosemite but don’t exactly want to stay in the park itself, this is a terrific resort-feel within shouting distance of the Fish Camp entrance.
