Hotel Capizzo

Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly, restaurant very good. Rooms need some major upgrade. Other then that I would most definitely return.

This is an adorable smaller hotel up the mountain from the wonderful Poseidon Thermal spa park. The hotel was very welcoming and attentive. We took the direct train from FCO airport to Naples terme - the hotel was so helpful to arrange our transport to hotel - first they had a driver waiting for us to drive us to the port - then someone to give us tickets to ferry - once we arrived on Ischia they had a driver waiting to drive us to the hotel - all for 49 euro a person. Worth every penny and thankful to the hotel to offer this. We stayed in room 126 - sea view balcony room. Rooms were a bit basic but very clean. Breakfast was a European buffet style and also with smiles from staff. We loved our meal at Ristorante Bracconiere - on top of the mountain - beautiful views - some of the best food of the whole trip...I would surely return to Capizzo

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! Everyone was kind and helpful and it was a pleasure to meet everyone from the hotel Staff Team. The pool was awesome - warm thermal water, clean, with bubbes and surrounded by various types of plants and flowers. Everything very well maintained by a gardener whom I've seen everyday. Aditionally, from the pool area there was a stunning view on the sea (sunset side). Just a couple of minutes of walk there is a beach and plenty restaurants. We also lunched in the hotel's restaurant - the portions were plentiful and dishes very tasty. I will definately consider to stay at this hotel again.

We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Capizzo as a family of five (including 3 school age children) for 3 nights. The location and views were amazing. The hotel rooms, pool and gardens are very well maintained and clean. The surrounding gardens are beautiful. The hotel and gardens have a fantastic view over the bay of Citara (including the spectacular headland). We stayed in garden rooms on the ground floor with good sized outdoor terrace areas where we could sit with beautiful views across the garden to the bay and easy access to the pool. We preferred these rooms to the upstairs rooms which have a smaller balcony. The hotel is a boutique sized and the owner (Maria), the manager (Vincenzo) and his team are very welcoming, helpful and attentive. They organised restaurant bookings, taxis and discount tickets for our day out to Negombo thermal pools and beach club. Nothing was too much trouble and they genuinely wanted to make our stay on Ischia memorable. The breakfast was included and it was a reasonable buffet selection. We visited nearby in Citara the best pizza restaurant, which the hotel had booked for us We could easily walk down the hill to Citara beach (around 5-7 minute walk down 500 metres) with beach clubs and a free beach section. A very manageable 15-20 minute walk to Forio town on a good sized footpath around the edge of the coast. Forio is a charming town and has a port. Well worth our trip from Australia (Perth)! Thanks Maria and Vincenzo. From Forio port, we spent a day out with West Coast boats on a private boat charter. Our English speaking skipper, Gianluigi, was amazing and the boat was fantastic. We went to many special spots (away from crowds), to swim, relax and learn many interesting facts and history about Ischia. We also had a fabulous day out to Negombo beach club - beautiful beach and amazing gardens, pools and restaurant. We thought Negombo was superior to Poisedon, because of the extensive gardens and the beautiful bay swimming.

We found this on TripAdvisor when we were looking for a mid priced hotel for a short break on Ischia - the reviews were good and it’s exceeded our expectations. The hotel is a really well maintained, quite pretty establishment, with lovely views across the sea, and a short walk (6 minutes?) from a decent beach, and 5-10 minutes walk from a range of restaurants (including an excellent pizza place, La Locanda di Vito). The rooms are a decent size, and spotless, with small en suites. The pool is lovely, well maintained with lots of beds (you need swim caps, which you can get from reception, and they provide beach towels if you ask). Best of all, the staff are all super helpful. The owner is always around, and she keeps an eye on things, and the Manager, Vincenzo, and his team were super helpful (booking restaurants for us, getting us a discount at the beach club and the Negombo thermal spa), and generally super friendly to us and our children. Breakfast is included - a good continental spread and also scrambled eggs and bacon as well. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner as well - we had a decent lunch there (altho service was really slow for some reason). I think you need a car to get around the island - the hotel has a small car park and we were always able to find a space, but I can see that it would be frustrating if the car park was full, as the alternatives may not be very close by. But hasn’t been an issue for us. Value for money is excellent compared to some of the other hotels on the island, so this is well recommended for a mid priced option on Ischia.

Amazing value for the price, basically a four stars level for the price of three. Amazing views from the balcony, comfortable rooms with good WIFI. Human sized hotel, family run. Staff is both friendly and highly professional. Great location, 5 minutes walk from the beach and from La Locanda di Vito, the best restaurant in the island.

There were no other affordable options so this was what was available when made our booking. It's definitely not up to American standards of cleanliness. The pool had black mold which my daughter was able too to scratch off and it was coming off into the pool. I was mortified. There was mold/algae everywhere in the pool ad the pool is the main nice amenity there. While the manager was nice, I did not feel it was clean. Our sheets had a faint small of cigarettes - maybe it was from our neighbors next door because they were smoking on the terrace, but it's 2021 and smoking near rooms really should be banned. they never cleaned out the cigarette butts from the umbrellas outside near the pool. My daughter kept playing with them and I just had to dump out the cigarette butts in the trash. All of them had them filled. The breakfast was scarce and they charged us extra for breakfast. We have stayed at many hotels in Ischia and they still charged us 20 euros a night extra for our child who is 3. The food costs were ridiculous (12 euros for a mixed salad.). We paid a lot of money for a triple room during peak season, but if you're American and understand health codes, the pool is not up to health code standards. Having algae/mold in pools can make children and adults sick because they can ingest the bacteria and have gastrointestinal issues.

Vi ho soggiornato nel mese di settembre. La struttura si trova in ottima posizione e gode di un bellissimo panorama; soprattutto è molto pulita. Avrebbe, tuttavia, bisogno di un ammodernamento soprattutto, ma non solo, nell’area piscina prevedendo quanto meno la sostituzione di lettini ed ombrelloni. Una maggiore attenzione al verde la renderebbe sicuramente più accogliente. Il personale è molto attento, cordiale e sempre disponibile. Esperienza positiva.
