Extended Stay America Select Suites - Fort Myers

The hotel was dirty from the entrance to the room. The room had a horrible smell that caused me nausea throughout the night. The floor was dirty and oily, making it slippery. The bed sheets and towels were clean and white, which was the only positive point. To our surprise, there was no hot water. We requested a room change, but there were no other rooms available. The receptionist was polite and called the manager, who offered a discount for the inconvenience. However, the next morning, another receptionist denied any issues with the hot water and refused to honor the discount. As soon as the morning came, we wanted to leave the hotel. I informed the staff that we were about to leave, but one family member was still in the room. I also mentioned that there was no need to address the hot water issue anymore and asked them to wait until everyone had left before checking the problem. They ignored this and sent someone to the room, disturbing the person who was organizing themselves to travel. Another issue: it was possible to hear noise from guests in other rooms, which was very uncomfortable, especially since we were traveling with children.

I am not sure where I should begin..... I arrived around 10pm to do a late check-in. No one was at the desk so there was a note on the counter to use the phone in the little lobby area to call 500 to get front desk clerk. Well there was no phone and it was not just me waiting to check-in, but at least 3 other people. There was a young lady down in the lobby trying to get ahold of the front desk as well. She was able to reach corporate customer service. The agent said she was going to call the front desk clerk and send her to check us in. Well a welcome greeting was not what I encountered. She came and pulled up the window and just looked at all of us and scowled. The young lady that was in the lobby was asking for some clean linen, and as i watched her throw the linens at this young woman she walked away from her and said something beyond rude under her breath. Then told her if she wanted linen that she would have to make sure she got it before 10pm, which was funny because she had been in the lobby before 10pm. You could tell the young lady was uncomfortable and kind of embarrassed the way she talked to her. The worst part about it was after she left the clerk then proceeded to talk bad about this woman to other customers waiting to check-in. This made me sick to my stomach, very very trashy. The funny thing is that the night clerk spends more time outside smoking ciggerattes and walking her 2 dogs. It is almost impossible to ever have someone at the desk, and what ever you do DO NOT ASK FOR CLEAN LINEN, EVEN THOUGH THE HOUSEKEEPER TELLS YOU THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO HAVE CLEAN LINEN DAILY. THE WOMEN AT THE FRONT DESK WILL TRY AND CHARGE YOU AN EXTRA FEE A WEEK FOR DAILY LINEN. It is bad enough they get mad when you ask for linen, but dont dare ask for the warm blanket that is supposed to be on the beds. They will not give you one. The floors in the rooms were BLACK, i mean i mopped 5 times and it was still dirty. Roaches everywhere it is gross. I never seen one person that works the front desk ever have a smile or even a welcoming tone. They are rude and very nasty to the customers. The night clerk makes it clear that you are bothering her and that she would much rather be outside smoking and walking her dogs. I chose to leave early with my family to find another location that actually has employees that are willing to help you while you stay. So word of advice please stay away unless you are looking for a place that treats you like garbage. I mean it is bad enough a lot of people lost everything due to the last hurricane, but having to come to a place that treats you this bad is so much worse. Good luck and please stay clear. Not worth the stress.

The staff has always treated my family and I great. Any problems get handled quickly. Nice place to stay.. friendly great customer service

The front desk staff is the most helpful I have ever seen. Wendy is great, Cheryl and Kristen will do anything to help you that they can. They always take time to talk to the guests, children and pets. I will stay here anytime I am in the area. This hotel rocks.

I would highly recommend this place, the staff go out of their way to be helpful and caring, the place is always clean. I especially love the front desk staff Cheryl and Kristian and must say my teenage is quite found of them too. Your not just a number , it’s nice to be greeted by my name when I walk in and I know my daughter is safe which is everything without safety we have nothing. Pete the maintenance man goes out of his way to say hello to everyone he passes and Wendy is just a ray of sun shine u can’t help but smile around her

If you like "clean-ish" rooms, sketchy guests, and the smell of ****, this is the place for you. My room was mostly clean. The bathroom tub could have been cleaner. The AC unit did pretty well, but when it kicked on, it was loud enough to wake me up. No shampoo provided and only one very small circle bar of soap. The full-size fridge is nice and the microwave was serviceable (the glass tray didn't seem to fit right and would stop spinning). There was a cook surface, but no cookware or dishes to speak of, so I'm not sure how you are intended to actually use it. The entire hotel smells like smoke and ****. If you booked a non-smoking room like I did, it won't matter. You'll still smell it as though it has permeated throughout the entire building. I will say the bed and pillows were comfortable which was nice considering the negatives. I neglected to read the reviews on this very site before booking; a mistake I won't be making again.
