12th century mediaeval town Stay in mid-late June-2024 Our stay at Le Val D’Aleth is very homely - run by young couple with 1+ years old baby boy - the garden place is fabulous Meals are homely and healthy - very delicious too - very easy on my weak stomach The surrounding was very serene and quiet, though with only a (9th century) mediaeval abbey next to us, nature is fabulous and keep us busy with walking (exercise) and driving to nearby scenic hills and plains. A walk around the village is fabulous. An English couple whom we befriended along our walk informed us of the delicious natural water near the village swimming pool. In fact there is also one in front of our home-hotel. We bought lunch one afternoon from a nice little paintings cum cafe run a gentleman - very friendly in spite of the fact we speak very little French - delicious galette, special type with vegetables E7.40 + croissants (1.18) + cafe au lait (1.8) Our owner-host lady Amelie is always happy to check out and shows us whereabouts - 30+ minutes drive and 1-hour drive in the surroundings - our 7 nights stay passed by quickly and I would highly recommend the village for longer stay rather than a passing by visit - too short to enjoy the surroundings Outdoor activities are nearby - from rafting to walking, trekking and hiking Parking is ample during our visit - across the junction, by the school wall or along the street.
