Powring Guest House

This gues house is in the prime location and easy to access for all places. Near to MG Marg also. The staffs are very polite, friendly and Responsive. The food we got here is way better than anywhere in Gangtok. And the owner of the guest house is very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Location is near to the main market. Even i have booked this Guest house seeing all the Positive Reviews for my entire 3 night stay.. I am wondering how this property received such a high positive reviews. The owner lady was more focused on getting good reviews than providing good service, out of 3 nights , during 2 nights we been Entertained with the Fights between her and other guests during my stay. Only 2 type of CP Break fast they have. Bread and butter/omelet or Poori. The room which provided during our final check in day was pathetic. the pillows blankets were very dirty. room was not cleaned and dust on the floor. I Had even asked My travel Agent to change this Guest house which was not fulfilled giving bizarre reasons. . So my suggestion to those travelling from South, please be careful while booking theses guests house, and don't screwup your holidays/ Vacations for the sake of budget. which was done in my case from my Travel Agent(ujjwaldaytravel)

Positives: Rooms are nice and thats the only positive thing i could rite Negatives: Hotel is far away from market Hotel is run by a lady (Shefali Sarkar) who is very very rude. those who want to get embarrassed should only stay there. no option for food is available. No Cook at the guest house to save money and the lady who calls her self owner cooks limited options. My 5yr old son had to eat same stuff daily i.e. Bread omlette for breakfast and alu gobi for dinner though breakfast and dinner were supposed to be unlimited. when we asked for boiled eggs for my son for breakfast, they bluntly said NO we cannot give so much option. Hotel owner Shefali Sarkar shouted at us when we asked for hot water to freshen up as we had to leave for sightseeing early morning but there were no electricity and can't expect people from mumbai to use cold water in that weather. they asked us to pay the bill 1 day in advance so their sleep dont get disturbed the day we were to vacate the hotel room.
