Mare Garden

While the rooms were kept clean, the balcony was tiny and could only fit 1 person on. The pool area was lovely, but there was a lot of sand at the bottom & green algae around the edges…. Desperate for a clean! The food was nothing but just about edible. Is it possible to return from an all inclusive holiday having lost weight? Definitely here! The options were very limited and also strange… chips and sweetcorn for breakfast? The “hot” food was also cold nearly all of the time. The drinks were also awful, a small selection to choose from & evening bar staff didn’t know how to make the cocktails and guessed. The “sprite” tasted like a knock off lemon and like soda and the fancy cocktails you see on the rest of the reviews you have to pay €7 extra for! Checking into the hotel was chaotic. We arrived at 10:30pm with only one worked behind the desk. We kept getting told to take a seat but that would mean people wouldn’t get served fairly. We had to send an email with the confirmation of our holiday on during check in while also filling out a form of all our details which they should already have upon booking. Checking out, we paid €20 to check out an extra 2 hours later. Although we weren’t getting picked up from the shuttle bus until 4 hours after, The lady cut our bands so we couldn’t get lunch or use the facilities! Awful when we lost the day coming out and paid extra for the late check out. The location of the hotel is good, next door to a shop for snacks. 5 minute walk to the beach with lovely restaurants. Not a crazy busy area but just enough going on. A bonus that we didn’t have restaurant owners begging us to come in like you do else where abroad. You could walk without being pestered. Would rate it a 3/10. The only 3 good points being clean rooms, nice pool area and a good location

We had an amazing stay at the hotel and we want to give a big thank you to all the team. The pool was very clean and the beach was beautiful. It was pretty crowded though but its fine. I will return next year to this wonderful hotel, lovely people , great food and weather and fantastic views from the beach to the mountains

Really loved staying at the Mare Garden. We stayed here in July and really enjoyed our stay. The level of service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Lots of choice which included catering for my husband gluten-free. The chef's very helpful. We had a family room with a pool view and seeing this view each day was amazing. The staff who work at the Mare Garden are real credit to the hotel they are very polite and attentive with nothing being too much trouble.

Me and my partner arrived back from our holiday last week and we did enjoy our stay. I cannot thank housekeeping enough, they made sure our room was cleaned and up to a great standard everyday. The restaurant isn’t in the hotel, it is next to it which is a 2 minute walk (not bad at all). The food was repetitive but it wasn’t bad. There was a lot of option for each sitting and the workers in there were amazing, making sure all food was topped up when it was running low. The waitresses and waiters work so so hard to constantly turn tables for new guests and making sure everything is clean. The only thing I would say is that they need proper air conditioning in the food area. The hotel itself is lovely but unfortunately we will not be returning due to the issues we were faced with. When we first arrived to reception (when we eventually found it), the receptionist asked for our booking details and for us to email screenshots of our booking to an email provided, the fact they didn’t have our booking on their system was worrying in itself. Once we emailed our booking, they then went on to say our room was not ready even though it says check in at 3pm which is the time we arrived, they told us to sit and wait and they would call us when it was ready. Half an hour goes by and we still don’t hear anything. More people to come to check in and all their rooms are ready. I then approach the desk again to ask if the room was ready and one of the ‘new’ receptionists seemed to find it funny and laughed as I was talking to them. Just wow. The woman then said our room was ready and we were shown to our room. The room was a good enough space but the balcony was tiny and it overlooked the pool area so no privacy at all. We had to keep the curtains closed for a lot of the time which was a nightmare on the first few days as the lights stopped working. We were sat in darkness for the first 3 days. I went to reception ask about the lights, again for the same receptionist to laugh and no apology for the lights. The response was ‘yes we know, we’ve had a lot of people telling us. There’s a problem with the system’. Me and my partner avoided reception as much as we could. They are not helpful in the slightest and just to be laughed at was just awful. I didn’t pay all that money to be laughed at. It’s a shame we had a bad experience with reception as the hotel itself has so much potential but they just don’t seem to care and they’re not at all apologetic. The pool area is so dirty. The pool has a layer of suncream on the top of it (which you could see). My bikini turned green from the pool. We know another couple went to reception to complain about the pool in which they responded with that it is cleaned daily. We were there for 10 days and the pool was cleaned once, that is not daily. We went to the beach and it was beautiful, it’s a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the sea was actually cleaner than the hotel pool. So many bars and restaurants along the beach too wh

If you have booked to go here then I would deeply recommend that you cancel. I have never written a bad review but I do not want anyone to spend money on this hotel. All the bad reviews are true and the ones that say it’s fantastic I feel are friends. The apartments are substandard , dirty showers with Green shower heads and stained floors, I had broken toilet, hand rail rusting. I had a dressing table in the first room but no mirror or chair. So you cannot see to dry your hair. No where for toiletries. The balcony!!! 2 chairs and a table which is so tiny but worst of all, when your sat down you cannot see over the wall so no view. No complimentary drinks. Part of the bed head board had come away. We went to the pool side which looks lovely !!! But only 32 loungers for over 900 rooms. So no sun loungers available. But if you want to get up at 5am and put your towel down then you will get a lounger. Next morning go to reception to find where the restaurant is ? Well it’s a 5/ 10 min walk from the apartment. The setting is awful. I can only describe it as a soup kitchen. The seats are uncomfortable. The scenery is a rubbish tip. The food is awful and for the few times I went there was always cold. You had no idea of what they were offering as no signage. The bar was awful. The staff were miserable along with everyone. The next day we were lucky enough to get a lounger or so I thought? Omg the loungers are filthy. Then I noticed this awful smell like stagnant water. This smell continued throughout our stay. I did complain countless times and even the bar staff agreed to the smell. The pool is never cleaned. There is green algae all around the pool. Women’s bikini are going green. I have written around the pool edge “clean me 05/08/25 so let’s see if it stays there? The stagnant smell is behind the pool. I will attach photos. The indoor pool is disgusting. Very unsafe with the stairs coming away. As far as all inclusive ! You can use your all inclusive by the pool ; that’s if you want to spend your time with a stagnant smell and no loungers well filthy loungers. There are a few chairs indoor and out. The pool bar snacks consists of melon and dried croissants. The beach front ! Not great. There sea front has loads of rocks plus you have to pay for loungers. Honestly it is awful. Every time I went to reception to complain ( which I do not do ) there was a queue of people complaining. Even the staff have given up. I asked to speak with the manager countless times but the staff said you can’t get hold of her. They said there used to complaints. I’ve spoken with loads of disgruntled people. One couple on there anniversary left early along with myself and husband. I cannot write everything but if I can stop anyone from staying here then I’ve done some good. I am currently fighting for a refund but the owner said it meets standard's. I’ll let you decide on my photos.

Not a 4 star hotel, more like 1 or 2. Really tired and unpleasant staff, especially the boss (who was the rudest of them all) of the restaurant, who didn’t care about their visitors and was not looking into giving them their best experience. The all inclusive was really bad, a lot of food was finished all the time, not making enough for everyone, trying to save money or something.. not enough clean plates so always had to ask for new ones. Drinks took forever to get since they only used 1 person in the bar, so there was ALWAYS every morning lunch and dinner a long que to the drinks so the food would get cold if you took that first. Boring drinks you could choose from and sometimes the drink machine was broken and they didn’t care.. There were too many people taken in for too little space, always over packed by the pool. Also the staff never tied up the chairs and everything after a day, it looked the same the day after. The pool was never cleaned so you could feel the dirt under your feet, and it was not handicapped adjusted anywhere. The room was not cleaned until like 2-3 during the day and the shower was completely open, making water go everywhere in the bathroom. The sink was also outside the bathroom which was strange? The walls in the rooms are very thin, so you can hear everything outside. The balcony on the first floor was a joke, full of ants and a garden that was overgrown. Sometimes they didn’t even have water to give to the all inclusive guests?! That’s really bad!! So overall I wouldn’t say it’s a 4 star hotel, whomever said that is lying. So don’t believe that and don’t go here :)))
