Beachfront Studio Unit with king-size bed and separate bathroom. Wainui beach with its white sand beach offers some of the best surf to be found in New Zealand. Walking, swimming and stand up paddle boarding are all part of the lifestyle. A short drive north to Makorori beach and then on up the coast to Pouawa and Tolaga Bay with it's legendry wharf or a walk to Cooks Cove for a swim. 6 kms back to Gisborne CBD with cycleway access part of the way. The harbour area boasts great eateries including Gisborne Wine Centre, The Works, The Wharf and Lone Star. Across the road from the Harbour area is the historic Blitz Surf Shop one of the first in New Zealand. The town beach has a great cycle and walkway linking beach and river. Kaiti Hill with its walking and fitness tracks and stunning view from the top is another attraction.

We welcome quiet respectful guests to share our wonderful property and will go out of our way to make your stay great. The unit is best suited to couples. Unfortunately there is no disabled access as there are steps only. Stretcher available by arrangement for extra person but suited to couple. Extra charge applies if additional person agreed.

Absolutely Absolute!
Very friendly hosts, wonderful setting with a few steps down to the beach from a pretty garden.Everything we needed was in the unit which was comfy and well appointed.It was also very quiet.No hesitation to recommend & we would return if we have a chance.Thank you Carnie & Ivan

Amazing!
This place is more impressive than the pictures show. Carnie is an amazing host and makes sure everything you need for a relaxing beach front stay is availble. Waking up seeing the ocean every morning, walking on the beach gave us much relaxation after 4 1/2 weeks traveling in NZ.

Beach front paradise
This Wainui beach Bach studio was perfect for my husband and I. Beautiful beach view, gorgeous beach just a few steps away. Our hosts Carnie and Ivan couldn’t have been nicer. Carnie contacted me a few days ahead to advise me of road closures and offered to put us up early to avoid the closure. There is some surf breaks on this beach so my husband was a happy camper. We hope to visit again as it is a special place.

Living the dream
We enjoyed our stay in the basement flat. It was immaculate, great bed and the view is amazing across a garden and out to the beach and sea. There is a steep grade to walk down, and stairs to negotiate to get to the flat’s access path. The beach is delightful and the community a real working town. Don’t miss the farmers market!

Convenient studio with stunning location and views
My wife and I visited Gisborne for 3 days, and this studio was perfect for us.It is private, clean, self-contained and right on the beach.
