Villas of Hatteras Landing by Kees Vacations

I will admit it was a little difficult to give a complete 4 stars for the rating based on some room issues which I will note later in this review. I booked this villa based on reviews and the proximity to going to Ocracoke Island. This villa is literally situated within walking distance of the NC Ferry System. I originally found this villa resort on VRBO - however -- when I checked the rates through Kees Vacation - which the property is managed by - it was actually cheaper to book through the resort. I truly liked the aspect of on-line communication via e-mail and right before arrival text message. We actually didn't have to go into the lobby at all because of the great communiation for check in and check out via the text messages. This villa - #220 is on the second floor - while the breeze way steps are manageable - it took us as senior adults a few trips to get everything out of car and to our room - there was no elevator. Our room faced the Pamlico Sound area and we could see the ferries going out and in from our balcony. Additionaly, this resort is not only within walking distance of the ferry system - but also there is a small shopping/restaurant area literally beside the resort - the walkways even connect together to the resort. Very convenient! My husband and I enjoyed walking over daily to the Tiki Bar and listening to music, plus walked to the end of the boat docks and watched the sunset over the water - even though we could have seen the sun set from our balcony - sitting on the pier just made it more serene. The villa #220 is literally as shown in the photos on-line. I liked the fact there was no carpet at all. The owner of the villa has decorated it very nicely. Additionally, Kees Vacation supplies a starter pack of k-cups, paper towels, trash can liners, dish liquid, laudry detergent and dishwasher detergent. It is recommended to bring any extra pillows or blankets you may need. You are supplied 1 complete set of towels per person as well. These towels are clean and plastic wrapped - which was nice. Tip - you only get cable tv - channels 2 to 48 - although the tv literally has the youtube, hbo, samsung tv and more apps - there is no way to access those apps due to no internet connection. Side note - we had to get advice from MIke at the front desk to even get to the cable channels because the written instructions were not clear. Now for the reason I wished I could have done a 3 1/2 star rating instead - it boils down to apparently some failure in property communication - my husband and I always inspect any property we stay at upon arrival before unpacking -- Villa 220 had the following -- the TV in the bedroom was off the wall and laying on the shelf inside the closet, 2 lights in the kitchen were burned out, I took photos and showed to Mike at the front desk between 4:45pm/5pm on the 16th. He advised he would have maintenace to the room on the 17th and we approved for entry without
