We had a relaxing and absolutely delightful stay at the Ruse! with zero complaints! We were greeted warmly by Christine, who chose the perfect room for us: A Greenside Suite, #2. It's spacious, with a perfectly firm (but not too firm) bed, crisp white linens, a deep tub and roomy shower, hardwood floors, and an outdoor patio facing the putting green. She even worked out a room for us on a 3rd night when we thought the Ruse was fully booked....(the Cottage). Such wonderful attention to detail. A spotless room with ample towels and high functioning A/C are two top priorities, and this room fit the bill. There's also a gorgeous pool (warm enough for a relaxing dip) and the most beautiful, contemporary, expansive breakfast/dining room I've seen at a hotel this size. The young chef Aidan puts together a lovely egg based meal--different every day--and serves it with a smile and a chill vibe. We loved chatting with him about culinary school and his dreams. He's one of the many people who make The Ruse feel like a home away from home. The housekeeping staff is also warm and friendly and does their jobs so well...it's impossible to feel anything but gratitude for such a beautiful spot. The whole staff from Christine to Derek to Aidan and all of their colleagues are a delight. And that the hotel is located just 3-5 minutes drive from the center of downtown Healdsburg is an added plus! We'll stay again, for sure, and couldn't be happier to have discovered this special spot!

Best B&B experience ever! The room is spacious and very clean. There's a giant tub to take a bath separate from the shower. We stayed in the greenview suite which had a patio. But the patio is ensconced to give privacy. The property is also well maintained. We played bocce ball and their putting golf. They have a pickle ball court and pool/hot tub too. Breakfast is included and it's not to be missed. It's a fixed menu and service was great. We were met with orange juice, water and coffee as soon as we sat down. First course was yogurt with fruit and granola. Then the main breakfast (e.g., one day we had shakshuka). They take dietary restrictions into consideration. All around, a very romantic getaway and we felt so rejuvenated and relaxed. It's mostly couples there and I didn't see any children or teenagers on the property. I think they only have 11 rooms, so the entire experience is def more geared towards adults just looking to getaway. And the location is great. It's so close to downtown Healdsburg. And the staff was so helpful with giving us recommendations of things to do and areas to eat at. We used their recommendations and weren't disappointed. This included, dining at Bravas, doing a sunrise hot balloon adventure, and a wine and food tasting at Capo Creek.

This was our first stay at the Ruse and it will not be our last. From the immaculate room to the impeccably kept property we were in getaway heaven. We felt so comfortable in our clean room with its modern decor. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The chef creates unique breakfasts that you don’t find in ordinary hotels. He remembers you and your preferences as well. We enjoyed the pool and putting green. Our next visit will be warmer so we can enjoy the pickle ball and bocce ball courts.

We stayed at the Ruse for 4 nights, and it was wonderful. Very quiet and secluded feeling even though it is in the town itself. We had a green side suite which was kind of like a private cottage overlooking the enormous 18 hole rel grass putting green. We didn't have time to enjoy the amenities but the pool and hot tub looked very inviting, we wanted to play bocce ball and pickle ball but no time. Next time. The room was very large, bed uber comfy as were the linens. Every light switch had a dimmer, so you can custom tailor the lighting to your own desires, and the thermostat was NOT on a motion detector and was NOT locked at certain limits, so you can actually set a temp you want, and not have to worry about the unit going dormant while you sleep due to no movement. One of my pet peeves with hotels now..... The bathroom was enormous which a really large walk in showered, fantastic water pressure and a great shower-head. Win, win, win! Breakfast was delicious. It is Cali, so the meal had the Cali feel to it, not waffles, scrambled eggs, etc. but the food was delicious and presented very nicely. All of the staff, front desk, breakfast folks, groundskeepers, room attendants, ALL of them super friendly. The overall decor is modern, very clean, furniture comfy. The overall impression is minimalist, almost Scandinavian i some ways, austere in others. But very pleasing, comfy and functional. The property is gated after 10 pm so very secure. This is a very nice place to stay and we highly recommend it. We do not give 5 star ratings often, The Ruse earned one.

We stayed here unexpectedly because our Airbnb fell through last minute. Our stay at The Ruse was exceptional! The staff (BIG SHOUT OUT to Aiden), the room, the facilities and the breakfast. Walking distance into town was a treat. Everything was luxurious and on-point. Skip the Montage and stay here for sure! Thank you! xx

Exceptionally charming B&B. Rooms are well appointed with plenty of amazing amenities and made for relaxation. Common areas are welcoming and comfortable. The pool, mini golf course, pickleball, and bocce ball courts are well taken care of and allow for a fun afternoon or morning. Derrick and his team made our work retreat flawless and were incredibly accommodating to all of our needs.
