For the area, this is a large game reserve with plenty of animals to see. It's not the Masai Mara or Kruger, but it's much more convenient for anyone travelling the Garden route from Cape Town and you won't be disappointed. The accommodation is very good and the meals and service are excellent. We stayed for three days on their "stay 3 pay 2 deal" and while it's not cheap, we felt that was good value, for which we got two 2-hour game drives every day (7am and 5pm in March), a generous breakfast and high quality three course dinner. You probably won't need to buy lunch, but it's available at extra cost if you need it. We paid extra for the picnic experience one day, which was good, but to be honest we really didn't feel like we needed to eat any more at that time. In three days of game drives you are pretty much guaranteed to see everything, including one three hour drive where they take you to the far reaches of the estate to see the giraffes. The first drive will be on the evening of the day you arrive, so be sure that you can arrive to check in by around 3 or 4pm at the latest, and the last will be on the morning before you check out. The drives are in 10 seater four wheel drive vans/rovers that are open to the elements so wrap up warm as it can sometimes be cold and misty for the early morning drive in particular. You'll get the same guide for your whole stay which is really helpful as they will know what you've already seen and what you haven't. Ours was excellent and really knew her stuff, where to find the more elusive animals, and could read their behaviour well so we never felt at risk or that the animals were uncomfortable either. They take a very much hands-off approach with the animals, who have plenty of space to roam and to live their lives as naturally as possible. This is not a zoo. Three days is just the right amount of time to come here. One would be too rushed, for two you might not see everything, and with four you would feel that you're repeating stuff too much.
