We stayed at UmVangati House for 7 nights. As always it’s was amazing. Lidia and Giel are the most genuine, welcoming and fun owners we have ever met. The property is outstanding. Load shedding…. !… Not here… 100% lights, air con, Wi-Fi, power.. 100% of the time … Giel and his wonderful son Jaco have installed state of the art solar panels power and battery system.. no power outages .. ever…. Just as we thought UmVangati could not get any better, 2 new fantastic additions to the team… Danielle and Liam… the most amazing talanted chefs you will ever be luckey enough to meet. The food is world class. They bring the dining experience to another level. Danielle also manages the guest experience from arrival through your whole stay. Her knowledge of the area is encyclopedic. Danielle and Liam are passionate about creating a wonderful stay for guests, with the most delicious food. Their professionalism and enthusiam is outstanding. We had an incredible experience at UmVangati House. I can't express how much we enjoyed our time and wish we had stayed longer. Danielle, Liam, Tolerance, Lucky and the rest of the staff were so inviting and professional during our trip. They welcomed us and it immediately felt like a true retreat. We have not stopped talking about the meals since we left. Liam is a special talent. Every single dish was 10/10 and even in the U.S. it is difficult to find food that consistently good. We were thoroughly spoiled by everyone. They have created a wonderful atmosphere and we hope to be able to make it back one day. If you are considering UmVangati House, you will not be disappointed.

I’ve traveled the world extensively, and I experienced service at its best, but I truly cannot pinpoint one thing that needed to be different or improved at UmVangati House. It surpassed all expectations. The scenery, and where the house sits is serene, breathtaking, and unique. The units are wonderful, clean, and well-designed. The food … was something extraordinary. They also allocated my friend who is a vegetarian, and the meals were just as amazing. The hospitality was wonderful, warm, and friendly. Great base to venture out into the Blyde Canyon, or just retreat from the hustle and bustle of the world and read, and enjoy the bush.

We stayed at UmVangati for one night on 6 November 2023. The quality of the accommodation is very good and the view of the mountains from the living areas of the house is amazing. Lidia, the owner, was very helpful in booking our boat trip on the Blydepoort dam which we enjoyed very much. The food produced by Lidia was outstanding. Highly recommended Bruce & Dianne

The view is just amazing. It looks like another part of the "God's Window" (a touristic place near there). In addition, the dinner and the breakfast were great, the staff was very attentive and the room was excellent and clean.

From the moment you arrive at umVangati House you know you have come across somewhere very special. Lidia (the owner and host with her husband Giel) met us outside the property and led us inside. The property (built by the owners) is amazing being beautifully designed and furnished but the real highlight is when you look across to the deck and infinity pool to the most unbelievable views up the canyon. The views are incredible and you feel you are floating above it all. There are no other houses or roads in sight just the beautiful trees and mountains with the view constantly changing as the sun and clouds move. We stayed in one of the Villa rooms below the main house and it too was fantastic with a huge bedroom and bathroom plus a balcony facing the small animal watering hole and the imposing mountains. To cap it all we had a beautiful three course meal prepared by Lidia and served in the wine cellar washed down with some of Giel’s excellent wine. Everything about umVangati House is first class and Lidia, Giel and their family make you feel very welcome. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

Unbelievable stay in a familairy atmosphere with great food. Lidia und Giel are amazing.The view is just impressive. It is also possible to see some wild animals at the water hole. For me it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Thank you so much for the great stay! We hope we'll come back one day.

From the moment we arrived, we experienced a world class treatment. We were warmely welcomed by the host Teressa, who showed us around this Beautiful house and led us to our cosy room. The location is phenomenal and the landscape is amazing, its always a bonus when you arrive at a place and it looks better than the pictures. The rooms are specious and clean. we were treated to fresh and delicious 3 couse meals. The cherry on top is the occational visits of the wild life animals at your door step. My husband and i had a wonderful stay and we will without a doubt be coming back.
