Dechiu Hotel

To say I loved my stay at Dechiu would be an understatement. This was the highlight of our two-week honeymoon and truly one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. I’m American, from New York, and my new husband is Greek — we live in Athens — and we spent five unforgettable nights here. The location is stunning, the design is thoughtful and inspiring, and more than anything, the hospitality is unmatched. It’s the perfect place to explore Vietnam while also enjoying a completely relaxed, chilled atmosphere. The breakfast is incredible, but the staff are even more incredible. I’m already telling all my friends about this hotel, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re even thinking about visiting, don’t hesitate — just book it and thank me later!

How often do you enter a hotel and immediately feel good; calm, at peace, quiet and still? How often do you enter a hotel and immediately feel you are home? Enter the Dechiu Hotel and you immediately feel all of these. Last June I visited the Dechiu Hotel in Hoi An and stayed for 10 days. At the time I wrote a review saying that I never could stand staying in a hotel for more than 3 days. After my experience, I had to go back. This time I stayed for 18 days. For me, the hotel creates a space to breath and space to immerse myself in a state of mind that awakes my innate longing for home. And home is what Dechiu feels like with the melancholic simplicity of the harmony between self and surroundings. The art made from repurposed traditional Vietnamese crafts and textiles warms the hotel. But Dechiu is not the only architecture and design. The staff are calm, quiet, always ready to offer advice or help with finding transport and the like. The wonderful Vietnamese breakfast (all vegetarian) kept me going for most of the day. It will be a wonderful addition when they open the café for lunch as well. And the best part was that I saw the same staff every day; always available, always ready to help. I was lucky enough to be invited to visit River House. Dechiu’s big sister on the river, a short distance outside Hoi An, has incredible views across the river to Hoi An’s old town. Everything about River House is soft, there are no hard edges. It is as if the building gives meaning to life as it should be lived. River House is defined by simplicity, asymmetry and naturalism. Its spaces are beautiful; sensory and practical. Not only is the architecture unique, but like Dechiu, the interiors bring poetry to the architecture. Put these together and you have art. Once the River House opens for guests, there will be two special places in Hoi An for people to stay. Something to look forward to.

I choose to stay Dechiu hotel because everything around here is wonderful, the air is fresh and it is very peaceful, you can see the sunrise over the sea early in the morning. I really love this place hope you all choose this place for an enjoyable vacation.

This place was hands down the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. We honestly could not have had a more wonderful time. Every detail is gorgeous down to the linen sheets, scent of the hallways, delicious free breakfast and the beautiful art collection in every room. The staff, May and Van, are absolutely lovely and made sure we had everything we needed at all times, they made us feel so at home. With the beach across the road and Hoi An town only 10mins away it was perfectly placed for our holiday. We loved it so much we came back for another night :) thank you Dechiu, May and Van for making our holiday so special

Absolutely beautiful! An oasis of calm as soon as you walk in. The rooms are comfortable and uniquely decorated. We had one on the third floor which a nice view towards the beach. The staff are wonderful. The coffee was great too. 10 min drive to Old Town and not far from good swimming spots. Coffee shops nearby. Highly recommend for visits to Hoi An.
