The 2 hour drive each way is known to be the highest continuously paved road in the United States, reaching the elevation of 12,000 feet. Seasons:Peak Season: May-SeptemberPeak Holidays/Times: Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Spring Break. There are seasonal factors to consider when booking. There are two rainy seasons/shoulder seasons in the Mountains. They are loosely from October to November and March to May. During these times of year activities can be limited including some restaurants closed. Although there are off seasons, Grand Lake is a year round destination. Pricing is reflective of the time of year.
